“Are you going to tell Mom?” she said, her question barely audible over the hum of the motor. “No, I’m not,” Heather said, her eyes never leaving the road. She already owed Mark an explanation and that was enough. “Thank you,” Dawn murmured, sinking further into her seat. Heather nodded. Their mother needed to know what had transpired tonight, though. She’d have to reveal the truth, but at the moment she felt it best to pacify her sister.
