Chapter 4

In a dimly lit morgue at a private hospital in Ramapo, Ike woke up on a cold autopsy table, completely naked. As Ike took in his surroundings, his first instinct was to flee. But he quickly realized, to his horror, that apart from moving his head, he couldn't even lift a finger. What terrified Ike even more was that his senses seemed to be amplified infinitely. At this moment, he could feel every single pore on his body. Creak! The sudden sound of a door opening startled him, and with just one glance, Ike's body began to shake uncontrollably from fear. "You... What did you do to me?" Ike's voice trembled. Liam wheeled an operating table filled with surgical instruments to Ike's side. Under Ike's terrified gaze, Liam picked up a scalpel and lightly cut his skin. The incision was shallow, not even drawing blood. Yet, despite this, Ike let out a blood-curdling scream, as if enduring excruciating pain. Liam picked up a vial of liquid from the table and waved it in front of Ike's eyes. "This is one of Angelique's proudest creations. It amplifies pain by ten thousand times while keeping the user fully conscious." Hearing Liam's description, Ike's face turned desperate. "I know I was wrong! Please, you're a generous man, let me go... I'm begging you...!" "Did you show any mercy when you insulted my wife and bullied my daughter?" Liam stared coldly at Ike, his eyes flashing with murderous intent. "You're not sorry; you just know you're going to die." Seeing Liam put on protective gear, clearly not intending to stop, rage filled Ike's face. "If you dare kill me, the Greene family will crush you to ashes!" Crack! With one swift motion, Liam severed the last of Ike's remaining fingers.. "Aaah!!" Ike's screams echoed throughout the morgue, lingering for a long time. Half an hour later, Liam stood outside a hospital room, looking through the window at the unconscious Cree inside. His eyes were filled with pain and regret. Angelique had already reported to him everything Cree had gone through over the years: she had gone through family suppression when her parents turned their backs on her. Liam could hardly imagine how much disdain and humiliation Cree had endured over the past seven years, raising their daughter alone after an unplanned pregnancy. After confirming that there was no lingering scent of blood on him, Liam took a deep breath and pushed open the hospital room door. "Mr. Anthony." The nurse quickly stood up when she saw Liam enter. "Miss Montgomery is fine, just a bit weak. She should wake up soon." Before the nurse could finish, Cree's eyebrows furrowed slightly, and she murmured in a low voice, "Liam, run, save Sasha... Sasha!" With a startled cry, Cree suddenly sat up. The moment their eyes met, countless memories seemed to swirl between them. "Liam... is it really you?" Cree's voice trembled as she stared at the man in front of her, the man who had haunted her dreams for over two thousand days and nights. Now, he was truly standing before her. When Liam had appeared and rescued her, Cree had feared it was just a beautiful dream. Fortunately, everything was real. Tears streamed down Cree's face uncontrollably. At that moment, Liam seemed to have completely changed; the ruthless aura around him had vanished without a trace. Liam gently pulled Cree into his arms. "It's me, Cree... I'm back." "Liam..." Cree sobbed, her voice choked with emotion. "I couldn't protect our daughter... I'm so sorry..." As Cree wept and blamed herself, she didn't yet know that Liam had already saved their daughter. Watching her sobbing, Liam's heart felt like it was breaking. He softly comforted her, gently patting her back. "Sasha is in the room next door. I'll take you to see her." Hearing Liam's words, Cree stopped crying and looked at him anxiously. Before she could ask about their daughter's condition, a woman's arrogant shout came from the corridor, "Get out of my way! This hospital is soon over! Smash everything!" The woman's voice had barely faded when the sound of things being smashed came from outside. A nurse hurriedly ran in. "Mr. Anthony, a group of people is outside trying to take your daughter!" "Sasha!" Cree jumped up and ran towards the door. Liam's face instantly turned dark as water. In the hallway, Snow Montgomery stood with one foot on a hospital security guard, looking around arrogantly. Just a few hours ago, Snow had received news that little Sasha had been rescued. Upon realizing the unexpected turn of events, Snow saw her chance. If she could help Ike recapture Sasha, she could use this opportunity to curry favor with the future heir of the Greene family. Snow had already decided to persuade Ike to ruthlessly torment that b***h Cree! Just as Snow was lost in her fantasy, her bodyguards had already grabbed Sasha. She glanced at Sasha, who looked dazed, and a smile curled at the corners of her mouth. "Take her away!" "Snow! Let go of my daughter!" Cree rushed forward, clutching her daughter tightly in her arms. At the sight of Cree, a flash of surprise crossed Snow's face. "Cree? You didn't go to see Mr. Greene?" Snow's surprise was quickly replaced by anger. "A slut who can't keep her legs closed, sleeping around with random men and having a child! What's there to be precious about?" With that, Snow raised her hand to slap Cree across the face. Smack! The sound echoed sharply. Liam stepped in front of Cree, shielding her behind him. He glared coldly at Snow, his eyes filled with undisguised murderous intent. "One more word, and you're dead." Snow clutched her swelling face, staring in disbelief at the man in front of her. A moment later, she shrieked, "Do you even know who I am? How dare you hit me? You wouldn't survive even if you are resilient!" "Miss Snow!" The Montgomery family's bodyguards surged forward, surrounding Liam. Cree, filled with worry, grabbed Liam's arm. "Liam, calm down! These people are professionally trained!" "Don't worry," Liam said calmly as he pulled Cree into his arms, speaking softly. "Just give the word, and I'll kill them all right now." Cree wanted to say something more, but Snow's mocking voice cut her off. "Cree, do you really think a man as good as dead can protect you?!" Snow's eyes gleamed with malice. "Get him!" Dozens of bodyguards drew their daggers and charged at Liam! With a cold snort, Liam moved like lightning! The hallway filled with anguished screams. In the blink of an eye, the ten-plus bodyguards lay dead, their severed limbs scattered across the floor! Liam grabbed Snow by the throat, lifting her off the ground. "No!" Cree clung tightly to Liam's sleeve, shaking her head frantically. "No matter what, she's my cousin..." Liam hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded slowly, his cold gaze fixed on Snow. "For Cree's sake, I'll spare your life. Now get lost!" Not daring to linger, Snow gave Liam a deep, fearful look before fleeing without looking back. As Cree took in the sight of the bodies strewn across the floor, her expression grew tense. "Snow is a vindictive person; she won't let this go easily..." Before Cree could finish, a phone rang urgently. She glanced at the caller ID, her brow furrowing as she answered the call. On the other end, an elderly voice full of anger shouted, "You have ten minutes to get back here! Be one minute late, and you'll be disowned!"
