With Duke's order, the Montgomery family's bodyguards, armed to the teeth, rushed in. Over twenty bodyguards with hardened expressions and an air of deadly seriousness surrounded the room. It was clear they were battle-hardened veterans. Their cold, black gun barrels all leveled at Liam , poised to fire at the slightest command.!
"Don't shoot!" Cree sprang to her feet, arms spread wide to shield Liam with her body.
Duke raised a hand, signaling the bodyguards to hold off, and then walked over to Cree with a malicious look on his face. "You'd better not test my patience. Go upstairs and get ready!"
Cree's lips trembled as she turned her head to look at Liam behind her, her eyes full of despair.
'He was too impulsive!'
If Liam hadn't just mocked Duke, there might still have been a way to salvage the situation. But now it was clear that Duke had murderous intention. Cree knew that even if she went upstairs now to get ready and put aside her shame to serve Ike Greene, Duke wouldn't spare Liam. Unless she could offer Duke something he couldn't refuse.
"Don't be afraid," Liam said softly, gazing into Cree's eyes. "These paltry guns are nothing. They can't even scratch me"
"Just because you survived the battlefield by sheer luck doesn't mean you're untouchable," Duke scoffed, his eyes full of disdain. "Kill him!"
Tears streamed down Cree's face, her voice breaking as she pleaded with every ounce of desperation she had left., "Grandpa! Please let Liam go! I promise I'll handle things with the Greene family!"
But Duke had already lost his patience. He forcibly pulled Cree aside. Despite her struggles, she couldn't break free.
Seeing the bodyguards about to pull their triggers, Cree screamed out in desperation, "Three days! Give me three days, and I'll secure an investment deal with Star River Capital!"
The murderous expression on Duke's face suddenly turned to one of contemplation. Recently, several of the Montgomery family's investment projects had suffered significant losses. Even worse, five banks that had been partners for years refused to provide bridge loans. In no more than three days, their cash flow would run dry. This was why Duke was willing to sacrifice Cree to curry favor with the Greene family in the first place.
"Grandpa! Don't listen to that b***h's nonsense!" Seeing Duke waver, Snow panicked. "I've tried negotiating that contract so many times and failed! There's no way Cree can pull it off!"
Snow wanted to say more, but Priscilla Moon's stern glare silenced her.
After a long silence, Duke snorted coldly. "Two days. If you don't secure the investment by then, I won't just kill that piece of trash behind you—I'll kill your little bastard child too!"
Hearing his words, Cree's heart leaped with relief. She quickly bowed to Duke and, without giving Liam a chance to refuse, dragged him towards the door.
Watching Liam and Cree disappear down the hallway, Snow's eyes were filled with resentment. "Grandpa, you're just going to let them go? What if that b***h is lying...?"
Before she could finish her sentence, Snow suddenly felt a chill run down her spine and quickly lowered her head, saying nothing more. Duke gave a cold snort and finally withdrew his warning glare, then leaned on his cane and headed upstairs.
Once Duke had left, Priscilla quickly walked over to her daughter's side, scolding her with frustration, "Don't you know how much your grandpa values Star River Capital? You really are an i***t!"
After scolding Snow for a while, Priscilla's anger gradually subsided.
Seeing the aggrieved look on her daughter's face, Priscilla sighed. "Don't worry; that little b***h won't live long. I just got word that Ike Greene is missing."
Snow's head snapped up, a cold smile slowly forming on her lips.

At the Greene family villa, a group of people sat on the couch, their expressions filled with fury. Just half an hour ago, they had received a severed hand, missing five fingers. Despite the blood and grime on the severed hand, Winston Greene immediately recognized it as his son Ike's.
Being extremely grieved, Winston's eyes turned blood-red as he kicked over the coffee table in front of him.
"Find out who did this! I want to know who's bold enough to cross the Greene family!" Winston roared, grabbing a bodyguard. "Immediately issue a bounty! Whoever kidnapped my son, I'll make sure they regret ever being born!"
Sitting on the couch, Wilson Greene, the second son of the Greene family, sighed and spoke softly, "Winston, don't worry. I've already sent William to investigate. We should have news soon."
As the underworld kingpin of Ramapo, Wilson controlled ninety percent of the underground forces in the city. In Ramapo, just mentioning his name commanded respect.
Together, the Greene brothers, one operating above ground and the other below, practically ruled the entire city!
Braylen Myers, weeping, threw herself at Wilson's feet. "Wilson, you have to save your nephew! He's always been so close to you..."
"Enough! Stop crying!" Winston barked impatiently. "He's not dead yet! Don't act like he's already gone."
Having been reprimanded, Braylen's anger flared. She quickly walked over to Winston and snapped, "How many times have I told you, stop covering for him whenever he gets into trouble! Winston, I'm telling you, if anything happens to Ike, you'll pay for it!"
Already irritated, Winston's temper flared further. The two began to argue heatedly. Just as the room was in chaos, William came stumbling in, his face ashen.
"It's bad! Something terrible!" William's voice trembled. "The villa in the suburbs is filled with dead bodies. The young master must have been captured there."
William, shaking, explained the situation and handed over some photographs of the scene to Wilson. As he spoke, he couldn't help but recall the gruesome state of the villa, his stomach churning at the memory, nearly causing him to vomit. After listening to William's account, Winston stood frozen, cold sweat soaking through his clothes.
The worst possible outcome had happened. Wilson flipped through the photographs, his brow furrowing tighter and tighter.
"Winston, you'd better not act rashly," Wilson said, setting the photos down, his tone serious. "It looks like Ike's gotten himself into big trouble this time."
Winston's heart skipped a beat. "What have you figured out?"
Selecting a few photos, Wilson pointed out several details. "Look here, all the victims were shot between the eyes. Aside from a professional hitman, the only group in Ramapo capable of such precision is that organization."
The news of the Azure Radiance's presence in Ramapo had already spread throughout the city's elite circles. For the first time, Winston felt his mouth go dry, and a bone-chilling cold enveloped him.
"No… It can't be. Ike wouldn't be reckless enough to provoke them," Braylen stammered, swallowing hard.
Winston said nothing, silently praying that it wasn't that organization.
"Sir," the butler entered the room, "the eldest daughter of the Montgomery family is here."
It took several calls from the butler before Winston snapped out of his daze.
"Can't you see I'm dealing with something here?" Winston waved his hand dismissively. "Tell her to get lost!"
After Winston had calmed down a bit, the butler spoke again, this time with a calm demeanor.
"Miss Snow said she might know who kidnapped the young master."
Winston spun around abruptly. "What did you say?"
