CHAPTER EIGHTY EIGHT MASON After Logan left to have his desired night sleep, I tried to focus on work. I needed something, anything at all, to take my mind off the weight and tightness that I felt on my chest. Alcohol wasn’t an option because at some point, it’d just feel like water, so I pulled out reports, opened my laptop, and even sent messages to my business partners, but none of it was enough to take my mind off the chaos. The words looked blurry as I tried to read them, the numbers made no sense, and my hands wouldn’t stop clenching like I was waiting for a fight that hadn’t come yet.
