Should I Go?

1162 Words
Olivia stood in the grand hall, her heart heavy with the weight of what was about to happen. Alexander stood nearby, his presence a constant reminder of the monumental change she was facing. Her parents, Beta Henry and Margot, were beside her, their faces etched with sadness and concern. Olivia turned to them, her voice trembling.“I don’t understand why this is happening. I’m not ready to leave.” Margot reached out to touch Olivia’s hand, her eyes filled with tears. “Olivia, darling, we never wanted to hurt you. We just wanted to protect you. But this is… this is something we can’t change.” Henry nodded, his expression resolute but gentle.“We’ve done what we could to keep you safe, but the truth is, you belong with your own kind. Alexander can offer you things we never could.” Olivia looked at Alexander, who was standing a few paces away, his gaze soft but determined.“I know you want to help me, Alexander. But I don’t know what to expect. Everything is so sudden.” Alexander stepped closer, his voice calm and reassuring.“Olivia, I understand this is overwhelming. But I want you to know that my only desire is to give you a better life. I’ve spent years searching for my mate, and finding you has brought me more hope than I can express.” Olivia’s eyes flickered with uncertainty. “But what if I can’t fit into this new world? What if I don’t belong?” Alexander gently took her hand, his touch warm and comforting.“You do belong, Olivia. You have a place here with me, with the Lycan royal family. I know it’s a lot to take in, but I promise you, I will do everything in my power to make you feel at home. You’ll have the support and the life you deserve.” Margot squeezed Olivia’s hand, her voice breaking. “We just want you to be happy, sweetie. We always knew this day might come, but we didn’t want to let go. We love you more than anything.” Olivia ’s heart ached with the knowledge that she was leaving the only family she had ever known. She looked back at Alexander, searching for reassurance. “And what about Marcus? I… I don’t know how to leave him behind.” Alexander’s gaze was steady and compassionate.“Marcus made his choice, Olivia. I understand it’s painful, but your future is with me now. I can offer you a life where you’re valued and cherished, where you can be your true self.” Olivia took a deep breath, her resolve hardening as she looked at her parents one last time. “I guess… I don’t have a choice, do I?” Henry nodded solemnly.“No, Olivia. This is your path now. We’ll always love you, no matter where you go.” As they walked away, Olivia glanced back one last time, her emotions a turbulent mix of sadness and anticipation. With Alexander by her side, she hoped that she would find a place where she truly belonged, despite the pain of leaving her past behind. Marsucs Pov Marcus paced nervously in the grand hall of the pack house, his frustration and anxiety barely contained. Katrina stood nearby, her expression a mix of anticipation and smug satisfaction. They had just finished the mating ceremony, and Marcus’s mind was consumed with thoughts of Olivia. He had rejected her, but the thought of her leaving with Alexander gnawed at him, filling him with a mixture of regret and anger. Katrina glanced at Marcus, her tone laced with a taunting edge. “I hope you’re ready for what’s to come. Olivia’s not the kind of woman you can easily forget, especially now that she’s about to leave with Prince Alexander.” Marcus’s jaw tightened, his hands clenching into fists. “I should have never let her go. I was a fool to think I could just replace her with you.” Katrina’s eyes flashed with irritation. “Well, you did make that choice, didn’t you? And now you’re going to have to live with the consequences. Olivia was weak, and you needed someone stronger by your side.” Marcus shook his head, his voice rough with frustration. “You don’t understand. It’s not just about strength. It’s about what she meant to me, what we had. I thought I was making the right decision for the pack, but now… I just can’t shake this feeling that I made a terrible mistake.” Katrina’s expression softened slightly, though her eyes remained cold.“You’re not the only one who’s feeling this way. Olivia was never meant to be your Luna, and now you’ve got to accept that. She’s with Alexander now, and there’s nothing you can do about it.” Marcus glared at her, his frustration boiling over.“You think this is easy for me? I rejected her, and now she’s leaving with someone else. I’m trying to deal with the consequences of my actions, but it doesn’t make it any less painful.” Katrina sighed, shaking her head. “Look, Marcus, you had your chance. Olivia’s moving on, and so should you. We have our future to focus on, and we need to prepare for the role we have now.” Marcus’s gaze remained fixed on the door, his mind racing with a mix of regret and anger. “I don’t know if I can just forget about her. Not after everything that’s happened.” Katrina reached out, placing a hand on his shoulder. “You have to. If you want to move forward, you need to let go of the past. Olivia’s gone, and there’s no changing that now. Focus on what’s ahead.” The sound of the door opening caught their attention, and they both turned to see Olivia and Alexander preparing to leave. Marcus’s heart sank as he saw Olivia, her eyes red and her posture weary, but with a resolve that seemed to grow stronger as she stepped towards the waiting car. Olivia glanced back one last time, her expression a mixture of sadness and determination. Her gaze met Marcus’s, and for a moment, their eyes locked. In that fleeting moment, Marcus saw the pain and confusion in her eyes, and it tore at him even more. As Olivia got into the car with Alexander and they began to drive away, Marcus felt a profound sense of loss. He watched as the car disappeared into the distance, knowing that the choice he had made had irrevocably changed their lives. Katrina ’s hand squeezed his shoulder reassuringly. “It’s done, Marcus. It’s time to move forward.” Marcus nodded slowly, though his heart remained heavy. He knew that moving on wouldn’t be easy, but the reality of the situation was undeniable. Olivia was gone, and the future he had envisioned with her was now just a distant memory.
