Chapter four "Ezekiel, father has asked something of you." "What is it?" I ask my brother, Gabriel. I look down on earth, seeing the deceit and evil that has taken over God's creation. My brother, Lucifer, has sent his little demons to overtake earth all for a little hissy fit. His rebellion against our father and the time out he deserved, we may not be of earth but my brother sure acts like it. My father would never create beasts like this, Lucifer creates destruction everywhere he goes. And he's determined to smite every last human just to get back at our father. "He's asked you to go down to earth to take care of Lucifer's mess and allow the humans to heal." "Why?" I ask and Gabriel rolls his eyes. "Why should I have to clean up our idiotic brother's mess? He's dangerous and duplicitous, why don't we allow the humans to kill each other? Cleaning up his mess makes him win." "Father has asked you to do something, you know what happens to you when you disobey an order." That scares me into silence. "Are you ready or not?" He asks and I nod, knowing that a task is most important for father. "Alright." He leaves me to complete my task, I take a deep breathe and make my way down to earth. I come across a building that the humans call a hospital, I'm not in the mortal realm but humans would call it the spirit world. The ghosts who haven't crossed over yet are shocked to see me, I make my way to childcare and I find a teenage woman about the age of 18. She's unconscious and on the brink of death, her spirit watching over herself and I come to her. She's startled and wondering who I am. "My name is Ezekiel." I tell her and she's still unsure. "You are dying and I'm here to take you to heaven." "Heaven?" She questions and I nod, trying to be patient but my time is running out if I must save the humans. "Like angels, demons, pearly white gates?" I roll my eyes, making sure she doesn't notice. "It's not exactly like that but you spend eternity in peace, in happiness." "I didn't think I'd even go, I mean, my parents always said I'd burn in hell for my sins." "What sins might those be?" I question, getting annoyed because I'm trying to get her spirit to move on but she wants to bother me with questions. Getting a human's soul to move on isn't easy, it just shows how clueless humans are about us. They constantly have questions, every human in death questions whether they're going to heaven or hell. To be quite honest, we don't decide that. Humans decide whether they deserve to be in hell or heaven, we just give them a little push to move on. "The drugs and underage drinking, the s*x and the constantly wanting to kill myself. My parents are devout christians and always said suicide was a sin, I never believed in God or the fiery damnation, I just wanted my parents to leave me alone." She responds, staring at her body in horror. "It will be alright, I promise." I tell her and she looks at me and for the first time, I actually look at her. I recognized her, I remember watching the humans flitter around like ants trying to rush somwhere that won't matter in the end. I used to think how insignificant and tiny their lives were, their lives were short but maybe it meant something. I've lived since the beginning of time and couldn't even imagine how precious life is when you know it might come to an end. I remember her, laughing with her friends and drinking in the car. Then I remember her friends not paying attention as they ran off the side of the road, screaming and being tossed around as the car rolls over and finally lands upside down. The rest of her friends died but she managed to survive, I knew she was a fighter and she managed to live long enough to make it to the hospital. I regret getting annoyed at her, looking around at the other humans. I touch her shoulder, knowing I shouldn't do this but all I feel is empathy for her. She disappears back into her own body, her family is standing over her. Crying, desperately trying to find answers as to why their daughter is dead. She awakens with a fright and the moment she sees those humans, she calms down and her parents pray to my father, thanking him for her life. I know my father will hear of it and that I was completely out of line, but we usually don't come down to earth unless father says to. So I have until my task is complete to avoid the lecture from my brother. I look at the other humans, one particular human catches my eye. Another one looks to be about 20. I don't see her spirit anywhere in sight and decide on her. I come up to her body, a strange contraption attached to her mouth. I assume she's already dead and take her form. My eyes open to the girl I revived, sitting and crying with her family. Pleading with them to forgive her. I look more around the room and see other children who are younger than this body, they all seem to be attached to the same machine and I find myself almost chocking. I calm down and breathe easier, I'm not sure how to get out of this thing but I find some way out of it. I get the device off me and sit up, a human that looked the same as the one with the other girl is running to me and she stares at me with shock in her eyes. "You're..." She starts. "You're alive." I look at myself, the tan skin covering the entire body and her fuzzy brown hair is all tangled in knots. "Um," The woman stutters. "Doctor Isaac, doctor Isaac, you're needed in the OR." She says into speaker right above my head as she presses a small red button. She leaves to I'm guessing go get the doctor. OR? What is that? I survey this body, she has what looks like a short white dress on but her entire backside is exposed and a little thing is on her finger. I take it off and wince when I try to get up, I feel a little prick in my forearm area and notice a needle with a tube connected. I rip it out, pain surging through my entire arm but I see no blood, just a tiny red spot where the needle was. I see no other machines connected to me so I get up, my leg hurts when I try to walk but I can feel my angelic powers starting to heal every wound. I start to walk to the door when I hear the girl. She calls a name that I'm not familiar with but I turn around to find her and her family staring at me. "Alex?"
