Star and Bambi finished up and left for the night. Katie went to lock up after them and stopped when Carlos came in the door. She sank into his arms for a kiss.
“You want to come upstairs for a while?” she asked.
“Oh, yeah,” said Carlos holding her close.
Katie turned and locked the door and led the way upstairs.
“We have a homeless man staying in the basement,” said Katie when they were in her apartment.
“How did that happen?” asked Carlos.
“I found him sleeping on the old couch in the alley. I fed him and gave him a job cleaning up around here for a few days. I told him he could stay in the basement temporarily. I also told him my boyfriend was a marine and was right next door,” said Katie, snuggling closer to Carlos.
