CHAPTER 14
The next morning, Marcel and Lanie watched from the porch as Chris went to his school bus. Jamie waved from the door as he stepped out to let Chris on. Lanie and Marcel waved back and drew a breath of relief to know he was there. They had talked to Chris the night before, and after the principal had already talked to everyone at school, they were convinced Chris would be safe.
Marcel went to check on the horses, and Lanie had gone to clean the kitchen and straighten the bedrooms. After she finished cleaning, Lanie called Daisy to ask about the marriage bracelet. Daisy assured Lanie she would be able to make the bracelet and told her there were plenty of supplies at her house.
