Lanie sat down and watched television with them, but her mind was not on the show they were watching. She thought about the last two days. Things had changed fast for them. She had been at the end of her rope when Marcel tossed her another rope and pulled her out of the mess her life had become. She went from having no hope to thinking they had a chance at a future. She knew there was an attraction between her and Marcel. She didn’t know if it was real or if she was just feeling this way because Marcel had rescued them. She had to be sure her feelings were real or just feelings of gratitude for him saving her and Chris.
