(Present)
Raymond slumped down on the long sofa, while his parents looked at him. He didn't expect what they said and seemed confused by what they wanted to say.
"Dad, Mom? Are you really serious about that?" he said in disbelief to them.
"Of course we are! Look Raymond, you're getting older so you need to marry someone that fits you," his mother explained and approached him and sat next to him.
"This is for your own good, son," his father also said.
Raymond shook his head slightly and looked at his parents in disbelief. They wanted him to marry someone he didn't love and wanted to marry him off to one of their business partners. But he didn't want to agree to them and he didn't need it yet.
"Dad, mom, I can't marry someone that you like! I will be the one to decide whom I marry! So please stop this nonsense!" he said annoyed to them and stood up to leave them.
"Is it still because of Chandri? Is it still because of that woman that you don't want to get married?" his father said angrily, causing him to stop. He couldn't speak immediately because of what he heard. He closed his eyes slightly because he heard again the name of the woman he once loved and forgot.
"This has nothing to do with that woman, so I hope you don't bring her into the conversation," he said seriously to them.
"No matter how much you avoid talking about her, she will still be involved because you haven't forgotten her yet," his mother said firmly.
He sighed and turned to them.
"It's been two years since she left me and I've forgotten her too. You're the only ones who can't forget her," he said annoyed.
"Because you made a decision that we didn't know about! How can we forget what you did? You married the woman who became our maid in this house! Who would be happy with what you did?" his father snapped at him angrily.
He avoided looking at him because he admitted it.
"We understand that you wanted to help her but did you really have to marry her without us knowing?" his mother said.
He clenched his fist and didn't know if he should scold them. But he chose to remain calm because they were still his parents and he had great respect for them.
"Mom, dad, please let's stop this issue. That was a long time ago and I have no connection with that woman anymore. Leave me alone and don't force me to get married. I'm begging you," he said calmly and quickly turned his back on them.
His parents just let him leave. Meanwhile, before Raymond could reach his room, he passed his brother, Lance, who was standing next to his room. He looked at him and just nodded.
"Do you want to drink?" he said to him.
He sighed and nodded to him. They walked together to a room, where their expensive drinks could be found. His brother immediately got a drink and two glasses and gave him one. He poured his drink and he quickly drank it.
"Easy," he stopped him. But he didn't stop and he poured his own drink.
"Did you really forget her?" his brother suddenly asked. He couldn't answer him immediately because he didn't know what to answer him. He just sighed.
"I can't say yes or no. Because even though I've forgotten her, I still get hurt when I hear her name and she's being talked about. You probably know that I was like crazy then, when she suddenly disappeared," he said to him. His brother nodded and understood him.
They were drinking quietly, when he slightly looked at his brother. He also noticed his silence, as if he was thinking about something.
"You, what are your plans for the woman you met in the province? Are you really serious about going back there, to see her?" he asked his brother who stopped slightly. He avoided looking at him and quickly drank his drink. He didn't answer his question, so he just shook his head.
"It's better to just forget about that, because if she finds out that mommy was the reason for her parents' death, I'm sure she'll feel angry at you," he explained to his brother.
He suddenly remembered that their parents and his brother had an accident before. Their car crashed into another car. Fortunately, his parents and brother survived. But the occupants of the car that they crashed into died. It fell into a ravine and the occupants didn't survive.
The person in that car was the parent of the woman his brother liked. After that accident, they found out where the people their parents crashed into were from. They found out that it was in the province where their father's brother lived. And the woman's family was known in that place. At the young age of the woman then, his brother liked her. He never thought that his brother would say that. His brother has been back to that place several times, but he has always failed to see her. Because his brother said that she had left the province and was studying in the city. His brother didn't know where she was in the City, so he was hoping to see the woman again.
He suddenly remembered Chandri, he couldn't believe that after that night she left him. He looked for her and even went to the hotel's Cctv monitor. So there he saw her being picked up by a black car. He didn't know who picked up Chandri then. Even though he looked for her, he couldn't get any news about where she was. He especially didn't know where she lived before, so it was difficult for him to find her. He did everything he could to find her then, but she seemed to have vanished into thin air. He couldn't identify the person who picked up Chandri, and he especially couldn't understand the woman...who, after giving herself to him, would suddenly leave him.
So now he is still trying to forget her.
