Xavier's P.O.V

My hope was that Irene doesn't mess things up for me. I was finally a step away from achieving my dreams, Liam was already kicked out and the ball was now in Irene's court.

When I saw how she quivered and lowered her head in fear, I shook my head in nothing but sheer pity for her. I focused my gaze on the clock and averted it back to Irene whose head was still ducked down as she fiddled with her fingers. "Irene, I am not trying to hurt you or anything but if you listen to my instructions, I would treat you well"

She bobbed her head nervously as she squirmed in her seat. Now, she was beginning to annoy me because with the way she was all aquiver, it made me wonder if this was how she would act when we got to the Supreme Alpha's house. "Irene, are you even listening to what I am saying?" I glared at her as we made eye contact while she suddenly lowered her head.

"Y-Yes" She stuttered, pursing her lips.

I swept my hair backward as I heaved out an exasperated sigh. I leapt up and stood before her with my hands crossed. "Irene, can you repeat what I told you to say when we get to the supreme Alpha's house?"

She raised her head up but before she could lower head again, I placed my finger under her jaw, jerking her head upward for her to face me. Tears glistened in her eyes as her lips trembled.

"Y-You told me to say that I am the daughter of the Southern Alpha Colony" She blurted out as I released my grip around her jaw.

I wasn't only livid but I was frustrated. "Irene, when did I tell you that you are the daughter of the Southern Alpha Colony?" I roared as she flinched on the spot.

I crouched down before her, grabbing her by the wrist and pulling her towards me. I bit my lower lip angrily till blood seeped out of it.

"Y-You have blood on your lips" She stuttered.

"Yes! And you are the cause! Look at me Irene, I don't want you to see this wicked side of me and I am sure that the maids would have told you tales about how lethal I can be" I said as she swallowed.

"I am going to repeat this again, you are the daughter of the Alpha of the Northern Cape. You are not an human but you are a werewolf"

"Repeat what I said?" I snarled as she trembled in fear.

"I am the daughter of an Alpha and he's the ruler of the northern cape" She muttered with her chest rising and falling steadily. "Now, that's a good girl. '' My upper lips curled as I brushed my hands through her hair like a predator about to eat its prey.

"Now, you don't have to be timid there. You have to talk boldly like a lady of elegance and poise"

"Yes, Mr Xavier" She muttered under her breath. I was about to stand up when my brain processed that she just addressed me as a Mr.

"Mr Xavier?" I buried my face in my palm. Never have I been frustrated with the way Irene frustrated my life. I grasped her by the shoulder, shaking her vigorously. "Girl, don't thwart my effort. You are not allowed to call me Mr Xavier, you must act like we are actual couples, I want you to smile and act like we are two souls made for each other, you are to only answer what you are asked and........."

Before I was done with my statement, the tapping on the door cut me short. "Who is that?" I roared as I stood up. "Damian. I have been trying to connect with you through the mind link but you have been cutting me off" Damian said through the mind link.

"Come in" I replied, saying it out loud for Irene to hear. I glanced behind me only to see her with her head still lowered.

I shook my head and snapped my fingers at her. "Hey,stop acting timid and act like a wife?" She raised her head up and pursed her lips slightly before forcing out a smile.

A smile crept at the corner of my lips. "Now that's more like it"

I fixed my gaze to Damian who was now standing before me. "The cars are ready sir, it's now time to leave " He said, glancing at Irene who sat glued on the chair. "Just ignore her" I motioned for him as he lowered his head.

Damian and I walked outside the house with Irene walking closely behind me. "Sir, do you think that she wouldn't cause any trouble for you with the way she's quiet?" My beta, Damian said through the mind link.

I stopped on my track, turning to look at Irene who halted as well. I walked towards her and stood beside her, hanging my hand over her shoulder while squeezing her tightly on the shoulder. "I told you to act like a lady of elegance. Irene, don't ruin things for me! I am pleading with you now because if you ruin things for me, your life wouldn't only be in danger but you parent's life would also be in danger"

"Don't forget that you have a sibling coming into the world " I added as she stared at me in total horror.

When I saw that I was able to instill fear in her, I walked towards Damian."I have made it clear to her, she wouldn't dare disobey me"

"Yes, Alpha Xavier " Damian lowered his head as we made our way to the car. "Any news about Liam " I took a quick glance at him.

"No, Alpha Xavier"

"That's good" I nodded as I suddenly caught sight of Irene who was walking like a slug. I scrunched my eyes up in a bid to control the anger rushing inside of me.

When my eyes fluttered open, she was now standing before me.
