Escaping the strange Alpha's claw

Charlotte's POV The joy that filled my heart knew no bounds because in a few days it would be all about Charlotte Hathaway. I had thoughts of how my life had gone into shambles when my parents died of a genetic disease I didn't even know of. Flashes of death danced around me even though I wasn't sick in any way. I was just so scared of this genetic disease that killed my parents. I had no one to lean on aside from Mabel, my cousin. "I can't believe it's in three days, girl!" Mabel screamed. I looked at her and I could feel warm tingles on my cheek. I was blushing so hard. I also couldn't believe that I was getting married. I wasn't only getting married but I was also getting married to the man of my dreams. Anthony Weston! My head was making a 360 degree turn. I was so dizzy with happiness. I had been in love with Anthony since I was a pup. Anthony's father and my father were best of friends. They had fought the pack to freedom together. Although my father was the alpha of our pack, he made Anthony's father the second in command and gave him the title of the beta even though he wasn't a beta blood. Many respected Anthony's father like the Alpha. I wasn't against that because Anthony's father was a good man. Anthony had always been an exceptional boy since we were little. I never thought that he would fall in love with me until I found out he was my father mate. Anthony and I dated for two years, it was still like we started dating. We were really in love. I was going to be twenty in the next three days, the official year to be married in the blossom peach pack. Anthony had wanted us to get married on my birthday because he said it would be a memorable day and I agreed with him. He was such a darling and I couldn't help but fall deeply in love with him. Mabel smiled at my wedding dress. She was the one who designed it and I could see the pride in her eyes. Yes, my wedding dress was indeed stunning. "Thank you Mabel. Thank you for being a good friend and a sister. How could I have coped with the pain without you? You've done so much already and now you are beside me to support my happiness. What do I need to do to repay all your good heart?" My heart was overwhelmed with emotions. I wished my parents were here to see the good things that were happening to me. I was indeed grateful to Mabel, she had treated me like a sister. "You don't need to be grateful, princess. We are family," Mabel said and gave me her pure smile. Mabel's smile was the sweetest that I've ever seen and I love to see it. Mabel and I hugged for a while before a knock came to interrupt us. "Princess, Sir Anthony is here to see you," one of my father's guards said to me. I beamed when I heard the name of my soon to be husband. I looked at Mabel and she gave me a mocking look. "C'mon darling, that man is going to have you forever. I just need a few minutes with you," with a fake jealous frown, Mabel said. I burst into laughter as Mabel rolled her eyes. It was really funny. "It's not as if I'm going to leave the pack Mabel," I said with my laughter filling the room. Mabel and I went outside to see Anthony. I knew the reason he came. Tomorrow was the official day that Anthony would be named the Alpha of our pack. I was the sole heir to my father's throne but then I didn't want to be higher than my husband. So I gave him the throne and he said he was going to bring me the transfer of right form so he could be named Alpha the following day. Anthony didn't want a big ceremony for his crowning. He said we should merge it with our wedding party and my crowning as the Luna. Some of the elders frowned at it but I wasn't going to change my mind. Even Mabel wasn't happy but I wasn't convinced. Mabel and Anthony never liked each other. Well, I think Mabel was the one who had a grudge on Anthony. She many times said that he doesn't deserve to be my man. She had said it countless times and Anthony got angry. Well, I'm happy that the two were not fighting as usual because in a few days we are going to be family. "Princess, won't you check before signing?" Mabel said to me. I looked at her and smiled. I knew her fears but I trusted Anthony. Moreover, I already checked it before they printed the final document. "Don't worry, I know the contents," I said to her and signed the document. Anthony scooped me in his arms and kissed me. I blushed because people were watching us. Anthony was busy so he left quickly. The following day Anthony was named the Alpha of peach blossom pack. I couldn't wait to be married to him and become his Luna. I had kept my body, it was a taboo in our land that a princess should sleep with any man before marriage. I was so happy that Anthony would be my first man. That night was also my bridal shower. It was a party galore. The pack house was flowing with happiness and lights. Everyone in the pack house and beyond was happy for me. Well, my father made it so. He was a good man. Mabel, my chief bridesmaid, had made that night a remarkable one. She gathered many beautiful females and we enjoyed the night. Soon everyone became tired and slept off. I was also asleep but I was awoken by the need to pee. After I was done, a smile crossed my lips when I saw all the females scattered in my large room. But I noticed that Mabel wasn't there. Well, Mabel also lived in the pack house. I felt maybe she felt uncomfortable and went to her room. She had done so much for me and it would be selfish of me to restrain her from having a good rest. I couldn't fall asleep so I decided to sneak into Anthony's room. Well, the room belonged to my parents before but now it has become mine and Anthony's. I was getting married that morning. I walked silently hiding from anyone I saw on my way. Well, only two maids walked past me and they were also in a hurry to sneak away. You know what I mean. I got to my parents room and opened the door. I was glad that it wasn't locked and when I entered, I heard gigglings. I paused because that giggle sounded familiar. What even made me pause was Anthony having a female in our soon to be bedroom this hour of the night. He was supposed to be with the men. My body started to get warm and sweat was already making its way to my face. Anthony had never cheated on me. I know he won't. Then I thought maybe it was one of the men that decided to use the room. I knew that was a lame excuse but I didn't want to believe that my mate would cheat on me on the night of our wedding. "I hate it that you are getting married to her," My legs wobbled as I heard that voice. I've been hearing that voice since I learned how to walk and it never said horrible things. What did I just hear?
