Tainted Love

Jennie pushed her glasses on her nose and spinning her head caught her reflection in one of the store's mirrors. Stevens words began replaying in her head. "You're ugly, no other man would ever look twice at you" "You're lucky I even give you my time. I should be with a ten" "I don't give a f*CK about you, you ugly bi*ch" Her heart felt heavy and her mood was low. She wondered what this world could possibly offer a ugly, boring woman, with no friends and no prospects. Despite the way Steven made her feel she truly loved him and hoped one day his opinion of her would change. She was grateful he had chosen to stay with her even though she knew he was regularly talking to other women while she was at work. "Hi, Erm Hello!?" A deep husky voice snapped her back to reality. Looking up she saw the most handsome man she had ever laid eyes on. "Sorry" Jennie stuttered. "I was miles away it's been a quiet day." "Penny for your thoughts?" the man asked. He saw the sadness washed over Jennie's face as she was reminded of the insults and put downs. "You look sad! Do you have plans this weekend? Let me fly you out somewhere for the weekend, cheer you up!" Jennie though she had heard wrong, there's no way this man that could easily be a model would ask HER out on a date. This had to be a joke, right? Today was Wednesday, she knew where her passport was and could tell Steven she was visiting her parents. She couldn't possibly pass up on an offer like this and if they didn't get on it it was awkward, well she would be no worse off? "Let's do it" Jennie replied, her huge smile lighting up her whole face. Pinching her arm Jennie thought she had to be dreaming. Then a feeling if despair came over her. There's no way this seemingly successful, handsome, tall dark man would be interested in someone like her. She looked in the mirror and felt a single tear run down her cheek, feeling nothing but despair Jennie just wanted to sob these feelings away but she didn't have any tears left to cry. Simon didn't know what had made him spontaneously ask this woman on a date, she wasn't his usual type, in fact she seemed pretty boring with her plain black glasses, and straight long brown hair but something was drawing him to her like a magnet. He was actually intrigued to learn more about Jennie "See you at 6pm, Bellavue airport" Bring day & night clothes and I'll sort the rest". He handed Jennie a card with his name, number and email address on & giving her a wink he turned and left. Pinching her arm Jennie thought she had to be dreaming. There's no way this seemingly successful, tall,dark,handsome man would be interested in someone like her. She looked in the mirror and felt a single tear roll down her cheek, feeling nothing but despair Jennie just wanted to listen to sad songs and sob these feelings away. She thought back to her teenage years when she had been young, popular and pretty. Never short of friends or somewhere to be. Now she just survived each day, waking just to wish her days away. Then it struck her like a brick that she somehow had to tell Steven she was leaving for the weekend. There's no way he would allow to leave with a female nevermind a strange man. Realising how ridiculous it sounded she knew she had to come up with a plan asap! She would have to ask Kara, her one and only trustworthy friend in the world.Picking up her phone she typed out a quick text, she needed to close up in 15 minutes so knew she would have to be quick. 'Kara, S.O.S I need your help asap! Can you give me a call in around 20 minutes Please? Jen Jen xx Back home Steven was pacing, where was this little bit*ch? She should have been home 7 minutes ago. How dare she be late. Now his tea would be ten minutes late meaning he wouldn't make it to the pub on time. Even though they had been together since 15 he couldn't stand to be around her for too long. He knew he deserved so much better than the boring, ugly woman that walked through the door everyday. He would have left but had nowhere else to go so made sure to get his fill of women on his level on a night when he joined his pals down the pub. In an ideal world Jennie would see her worth and know she wasn't doing anything wrong. She'd just fallen for a man who lacked self control, integrity and respect. Not only for her but for himself. Being with a weak minded man was exhausting and no matter how much she monitored his phone or his actions he would always make Jennie feel like he was superior and doing her a favour by being with her Jennie hung up the phone and noticing the time began to jog home. She hadn't realised she was late. It had been a while since she'd had something to look forward to and her and Kara had been excitedly chatting away. Knowing she would need to tread carefully now she rushed to get home. There's no way she could get away this weekend if Steven was annoyed at her. In his opinion she deserved nothing more than being sat at home staring at four walls while he went out acting like a teenager. Remembering Simon's he felt butterflies in her stomach and her face flush. Kara was coming over tonight to help her prepare abd hide her clothes. They just needed an excuse to get her away now and everything would hopefully fall into place! Simon closed his laptop and laid back on his comfy sofa in the penthouse he was staying in for work. He had booked the flight tickets and hotel and was feeling excited. He has always been spontaneous but Jennie was the complete opposite of his usual type.He swayed towards model types: Tall, Blonde, flawless skin, peachy lips, and stunning figure. He had multiple women that would drop anything for a weekend with him yet for the first time in a long time something felt different about Jennie. Behind the nerdy look he could see she had a beautiful aura, pure heart and was genuine. Thankfully she wasn't coming here as he wouldn't yet need to explain he was into b**m. He figured he would see how the first date and take it from there. Maybe he'd test the waters and see where her boundaries could be pushed. Most women melted at the sight of his perfect body and manly good looks. Realising he was biting his lip he stood and picked up his phone. Just the thought of what he'd like to do had him hit under the collar. Feeling himself getting hard he thought about ringing Jess who lives 5 minutes away but decided against it and took himself off to have a hot relaxing shower.
