“Wait, what are you doing?” Jeremy said. “I’m trying to have a conversation here with you, and you walk away?”
She didn’t like his tone. In fact, there was so much about him lately that had her feeling as if he regretted everything about her, her being there, and the fact that his ring was on her finger. Maybe this was his way of trying to make her go away and break this off. His hand was now on her shoulder, and he somehow had her stopped and turned around. She took in the fire in his eyes, those green eyes that had a way of completely unsettling her and making her give in when she needed to stand her ground.
