EMILY I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. Ashton had been acting strange all day, and I couldn't help but wonder what was bothering him. As I walked back to my dorm, I couldn't help but think about Ashton and his behavior. What was going on with him? And why was he being so secretive? I pushed open the door to my dorm and was greeted by the sound of Jasmine's laughter. She was sitting on the couch, her phone in her hand and a smile on her face. "Hey, Emily," she said, looking up at me. "How was your day?" I shrugged, feeling a little uneasy. "It was okay, I guess. Ashton was acting strange, though." Jasmine's expression changed, and for a moment, I saw a flash of something in her eyes. But then it was gone, and she was smiling again. "Oh, yeah?" she said, her voice casual. "What was he doing?" I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But something about Jasmine's expression made me feel like I could trust her. "He was just being really secretive and distant," I said, trying to explain. "I don't know what's going on with him." Jasmine nodded, her eyes sparkling with interest. "I think I might know what's going on with him," she said, her voice low and mysterious. My heart skipped a beat as I wondered what Jasmine knew. "What is it?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Jasmine leaned in, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Let's just say that Ashton is hiding something," she said, her voice dripping with malice. "And I think I can help you figure out what it is. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I looked at Jasmine. What did she know about Ashton? And why was she being so secretive? "Tell me," I said, my voice firm. "What do you know about Ashton?" Jasmine smiled again, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, Emily," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "You really don't know anything about Ashton, do you?" I felt a surge of anger and frustration. What was Jasmine trying to say? And why was she being so cryptic? "Jasmine, just tell me what you know," I said, my voice firm. "I'm tired of playing games." Jasmine's smile faltered for a moment, and I saw a flash of something in her eyes. But then it was gone, and she was smiling again. "Okay, Emily," she said, her voice sweet and innocent. "I'll tell you what I know. But you have to promise me one thing." "What's that?" I asked, my voice cautious. Jasmine's eyes locked onto mine, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. "You have to promise me that you'll keep an open mind," she said, her voice low and mysterious. "And that you'll be prepared for the truth." I felt a surge of unease and uncertainty. What was Jasmine talking about? And what truth was she going to reveal? I hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. But Jasmine's eyes were locked onto mine, and I could sense a determination in her that I couldn't ignore. "Okay," I said finally, my voice barely above a whisper. "I'll keep an open mind. And I'll be prepared for the truth." Jasmine's face broke out into a wide smile, and she leaned in close to me. "Good," she whispered. "Because the truth is going to blow your mind." I felt a shiver run down my spine as Jasmine's words hung in the air. What was she talking about? And what truth was she going to reveal? Jasmine leaned back in her chair, a sly smile still spreading across her face. "You see, Emily," she said, her voice low and mysterious. "Ashton isn't who you think he is." My heart skipped a beat as I looked at Jasmine. What did she mean? And what secrets was Ashton hiding. I felt a surge of confusion and uncertainty. What did Jasmine mean? And what secrets was Ashton hiding? "What do you mean?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Jasmine's smile grew wider, and she leaned in closer to me. "I mean that Ashton has a past," she said, her voice low and mysterious. "A past that he's been keeping hidden from you." I felt a shiver run down my spine as Jasmine's words hung in the air. What kind of past could Ashton possibly have? And why was he keeping it hidden from me? "What kind of past?" I asked, my voice firm. Jasmine's eyes sparkled with amusement, and she leaned back in her chair. "Oh, Emily," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "You really are naive, aren't you?" I felt a surge of anger and frustration, but I pushed it down, determined to get to the bottom of things. "Just tell me, Jasmine," I said, my voice firm. "What's going on with Ashton?" Jasmine's smile faltered for a moment, and I saw a flash of something in her eyes. But then it was gone, and she was smiling again. "Okay, Emily," she said, her voice sweet and innocent. I felt a shiver run down my spine as Jasmine's words hung in the air. What was she talking about? And what truth was she going to reveal? Jasmine leaned back in her chair, a sly smile still spreading across her face. "Ashton's past is not what you think it is," she said, her voice low and mysterious. "He's been hiding something from you, Emily. Something big." I felt a surge of confusion and uncertainty. What was Jasmine talking about? And what was Ashton hiding from me? "What is it?" I asked, my voice firm. Jasmine's smile grew wider, and she leaned in closer to me. "Ashton's not who you think he is," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "He's been lying to you, Emily. And I have proof." I felt like I had been punched in the gut. Ashton, lying to me? It couldn't be true. I thought back to all the times we had spent together, all the conversations we had had. Had he been deceiving me the whole time? "What proof?" I asked, my voice shaking slightly. Jasmine smiled again, and I could see the excitement in her eyes. "I have documents, records, and witnesses," she said, her voice dripping with confidence. "I can prove that Ashton is not who he says he is." I felt like I was in a nightmare. I didn't know what to believe or who to trust. Part of me wanted to believe that Jasmine was just trying to cause trouble, but another part of me was terrified that she might be telling the truth. "What do you want from me?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Jasmine's smile grew wider, and she leaned in closer to me. "I want you to know the truth," she said, her voice low and mysterious. "And I want you to make a choice." "A choice?" I repeated, my heart pounding in my chest. Jasmine nodded, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Yes, a choice," she said. "You can either continue to believe in Ashton and his lies, or you can face the truth and make a change." I felt like I was standing at a crossroads, with no idea which path to take. Part of me wanted to believe in Ashton and our relationship, but another part of me was terrified of being deceived.
