I turned around and saw a man, about my age maybe? or older...
He was wearing and obvious expensive garments all over his body. He has a sword tucked behind him. And he's looking at us with his annoying cocky smile.
I raised my brow in confusion. He must've my reaction making him chuckle.
"Chill...I was just kidding..no harm." He chuckled again. Kana stepped closer to the man and grabbed him by the collar. She turned to me with a smile.
"Ahmm...what's you're name? I forgot! hehe." She asked me.
"Dasel." I said.
"Oh! Dasel. Dasel my friend...This is my cousin, Constantino." He pushed the man closer to me. Constantino smiled and offered his hands, which I shoke without hesitation.
"Dasel, from Therian." I introduced myself.
Kana cut in. "You're from Therian...that's so cool. I heard Therian has a lot of Chandeuls and Magic beasts compared to other kingdoms." She said.
I smiled and scratchedvmy neck a little...proud maybe.
Among all the six kingdoms, Therian is the last when it comes to advancement, probably because most places in our kingdoms are habitats of Magic beasts and Chandeuls. Our King respects both the boundary of humans and creatures. Though we're not progressing as much as the other kingdoms, our territory has a lot of ancient ruins that hold ancient structures that help protect our lands from calamities and against the Dromians.
"Where are you from? by the way?" I asked.
Constantino answered. "We're from the city of Sanddus, from the kingdom of Githal."
I smiled. "Githal? that's so cool. I heared that your kingdoms are the best at making weapons!" I excitedly said. Constantino chuckled and turned to Kana.
Kana lifted her bow. "This is the one of the rare items from our storage. It was created two hundred years ago by the great, Rinan. The most amazing blacksmith of all time." she proudly said.
We talked more as we surged slowly towards the arch.
When it was our turn to be inspected, Kana went first. A mage cast something in her.
"For body inspection, they can't just touch people, you know." Constantino whispered. I nod.
Then they went through Kanas language and inspected her weapon. After a few minutes, they let her pass through. I went next and the mage raised his brow at me.
"Luggage?" he asked. I shoke my head. He then cast some incantation at me.
"How old are you? where are you from?" he asked.
"Twenty, from the kingdom of Therian, near the hundred nisos." I spoke.
He nod and let me pass through. I then asked him and walked towards Kana.
"Sel? you don't have any language?" she asked. We've only just met, yet she already have a nickname for me. I was ecstatic.
I nod at her question. "It's troublesome."
She chuckled and linked her arms in mine.
I waited for Ranette to enter from the Magical beasts arch. As Constantino entered, Renette also entered.
I walked towards Renette and touched his head. "Good boy!" I praised it.
The kingdom of Athdos may not be alike to other kingdoms but it still have it's similarities. Like food stools all over the place, mini stage where they perform street theater. There were also a lot of Chandeuls around. And especially, the people of Athdos seemed to be into luxury.
People are wearing luxurious attire, clothes, shoes, armor, garments, and faces filled with make-up.
We stopped in front of a food house to eat. Kana said that this place is one of the most popular food house in the kingdom. And it did not disappoint me. The ambience of the place was lively and classy at the same time. There were waiters, both humans and chandeuls. Their foods were plated with fancy and elegance.
Constantino got us a table.
"Okay, let's order something. This place serves good and delicious food...like utterly literally delicious." She exaggeratedly said.
A waiter walked towards our table to ask for our order. I just picked a random dish from the menu to order. After a few minutes, our order arrived.
From Kana's words, it really does looks delicious and it absolutely tastes delicious. I dug into the food excitedly.
After finishing our meal, the waiter put the bill in front of us.
132 Silver coins...132 DHULS!!!
100 Dhuls is enough to buy a decent armor..and our entire food costs more than that!!
Kana noticed my surprise and chuckled. She took a few gold coins and gave it to the waiter.
It was almost sunset when we got to the training camp. Still, the place was packed, and we have to wait in another line to sign up before finally entering the camp.
By the time it was our turn, the sky was already dark. They asked for our name, skill specialty in, and address. They also gave us our uniform and our assigned number. Some we're even cutting in line.
I'm CD4, kana is CD8, and Constantino is CD11.
Constantino eventually got separated from us because the female's building is different from the males.
Kana and I signed up for a room. We are now roommates. we went to our room and both happily celebrated our stay by jumping on our beds.
"Can you believe it?" She asked.
"I can't believe it!" I said. we are still jumping up and down by our Individual beds.
"Did you see the male trainees by entry? they were so hot, ripped, and HOT!" she exclaimed.
I chuckled, remembering what happened earlier. As we passed by the male quarters, Kana gripped my arm supressing her sequels. It was funny.
I chuckled. "I even saw a man winking at you? you have an admirer. And it's just our first day."
Our conversation went on 'till we both dozed off to sleep.
A high pitched ringing woke me up. Kana also got stirred from her slumber. We quickly got in our uniform.
After exiting our room, noticed that the hallways have signs.
"Go to the Training plaza by Four A.M. Latecomers will be punished."
After reading the sign, Kana and I looked at each other and flashed towards the training plaza. More trainees were also running.
By the time we got to the location, the drill stopped, indicating that it was already past Four. All of us were disheveled from running, breath heavy, and covered with thin sheets of sweat.
It turns out, the plaza was a few kilometers away from the sleeping quarters (Building). Luckily, there were signs along the pathway pointing towards the location.
And then someone spoke.
"Fall into line." A firm voice, full of authority.
