“Hoy saan kayo galing dalawa ha?!” I jumped in surprise. What the hell? Napakapit naman din ako sa may dibdib dahil sa gulat ng biglang sumigaw si Brent habang nakatingin sa aming dalawa ni Kai. 

“Pake mo ba ha? Tabi nga!” bigla ko siyang tinulak at nagmadali nang pumunta sa kwarto ko sa condo ni Brent. I sighed while shaking my head. This can’t be happening. 

This really can’t be.

I’m not complaining or what, what the hell? I just wanted to forget that scene in my head. Hindi dapat ganito ‘yong nararamdaman ko, This makes everything awkward. I don’t want to think about that anymore, it seems like I couldn’t. I could just ignore the f**k out of it but still. Oh my god. What am I thinking? This is so insane.

Nakarating kami sa Tagaytay after 2 hours of driving, we just chit-chat about our courses while on our way to Tagaytay. Wala naman kaming ginawa kung hindi tumawa lang nang tumawa and ang gaan lang sa feeling. The feeling is so foreign to me, though, but not in a bad way, though.

Napag alaman ko rin ang taste niya sa music. He likes indie, pop, indie rock, and some Pinoy old songs. And, that’s so cute for me. After 2 hours of driving, we stopped at this coffee shop named Ruined Project. We ordered coffee again, and that’s okay. I ordered a Caramel Macchiato and a classic new york cheesecake, and, for him, he ordered a cup of cafe americano and pasta. He treated me, by the way. What a handsome and kind jerk he is. Joke.

We sat on their balcony type and an overlooking view. The view is so ethereal. And Kai, on the other hand, is enjoying his coffee while looking at the trees. 

“This is so relaxing,” sabi niya habang nakatingin sa view. Kitang-kita mo talaga sa kanya ang pagkamangha niya sa lugar. I smiled while looking at the sky. 

“Grabe, sobrang ganda rito,” sabi ko naman sa kanya. He drank his coffee before he answered me. 

“Do you love this kind of ambience and scenery?” bigla naman niyang tanong sa’kin. Nakatingin siya sa’kin habang nakangiti. Pag ngumingiti talaga ‘tong isang ‘to parang walang problema, nakakahawa ang mga ngiti. I smiled at him.

“To be honest, this is my thing. I mean, when I have spare time, I would go to cafes and check their coffees,” I giggled and drank my coffee. “My favorite cafe is my own cafe, though,” I added.

He looked at me with confusion in his eyes. I chuckled. “I have a cafe in my house. Well, in my mom’s,” I started, and then I drank my coffee. “My room ako na parang coffee shop, andon ang mga collection ko nang mga kape, mugs, and coffee pressers.” Sabi ko sa kanya at ngumiti naman siya at tumango-tango.

“So you really love coffee, huh?” he said that while smiling at me. I just nodded and giggled.

“As in! Sobra! Feeling ko nga bigyan lang ako nang kape araw-araw, mafafall na ako sa tao!” I laughed at him after saying that. Nakita ko naman siyang napa-smirk after kong sabihin ‘yun.

“So, it’s possible that you’d fall for me? Hmm?” Nagulat naman ako sa sinabi niya, and I mentally rolled my eyes. Anong bang pinagsasabi ng lalaking ‘to?

“I made you a coffee on your 2nd day at our house, and, then this, I treated you coffee, and to be exact, your favorite coffee,” He smiled at me while looking into my eyes. “So? Hmm?” sumimsim naman siya sa tasa ng kape niya at binalik ang ngiti sa view habang ako ay nakatingin sa kanya at napaawang ang mga labi dahil sa sinabi niya.

“What the hell?” I almost whispered while looking at him. I just saw him grinned as he fixed his hair, and then he threw me a look and winked at me.

“Relax, Christine. I’m just kidding,” he chuckled, then patted my head. I just don’t know what to say. 

Napatanga ako, hindi naman ako ganito! I’m a talkative person, yet this guy makes me so quiet, and I hate this feeling! He made me feel so awkward! Kainis

Ginulo ko ang buhok at gumulong-gulong sa kama dahil naalala ko na naman ang sinabi niya. Hindi naman ‘di ba? 

Talaga ba? Bigla tanong ko sa sarili. Oh my gosh. This ain’t good. Oh gosh. 

“Sabay na tayo mag-lunch. I think we need to catch up,” napatingin naman ako kay Brent habang papasok kami sa university. I looked at him with so much confusion on my face. 

Huh? Okay, lang ba ‘to? Anong catch up pinagsasasabi nitong taong ‘to?

“What?” I asked him.

He tilted his head then flicked his tongue. “Wala naman, baka may ikwekwento ka sa’kin,” he said coolly and smirked at me. Oh god. I just mentally rolled my eyes.

“I have nothing to say!” I exclaimed at him. Masyado na siyang tsismoso para maging lalaki. Kung ‘di ko lang alam na marami ‘tong babae, pagkakamalan ko na ‘tong bakla dahil sa sobrang daldal at tsismoso! 

“Chill, B, pero saan talaga kayo galing ni Kai Apollo ha?” he wiggled his eyebrows and giggles. God, please, give me some peace. 

I kept my mouth shut. Pinaalala na naman sa’kin ni Brent. Geez. Ayaw ko na ngang maalala kasi, it’s making me awkward! But, Kai, on the other hand, like nothing happened. He even made me a cup of coffee earlier before going to school, parang wala lang ‘yung sinabi niya sa’kin.

Am I overreacting about it?

I know it was a joke but dude! I don’t know. I sighed. Napatingin naman agad ako kay Brent na nakatitig na pala sa’kin na parang tanga akong tinitingnan.

“What?” I asked.

“You’re hopeless.” He laughed and kissed my left cheek and bid his goodbyes. 

Nagpaalam na siya sa’kin na papasok na raw siya. Magkaiba Kasi kami ng building. Brent’s an archi student, kaya nga minsan nagtataka ako. How could he manage his time when he’s an archi, and at the same time a varsity player, and mind you, he can do clubbing and girls pa, alright?

“Announcement: Good morning, everyone! All classes are suspended for the whole day. We have an emergency meeting with all the professors. Thank you, and have a great day all.”

Bigla naman akong napatanga dahil sa announcement na I think kinabigla rin ng lahat. Narinig ko na lang ang mga hiyawan ng iba dahil sa pag suspend ng klase for the whole day. Grabe, Monday na Monday tas ganito ang nangyari.

I sighed. 

I checked my phone when I felt it was vibrating in my pocket. I saw that Brent sent me a message.

Brent 

All classes are suspended. Wru at?

Nag-reply na lang ako sa kanya na naglalakad pa rin ako at hintayin ko na lang siya sa school parking para sumabay ulit pauwi sa kanila. Sa bagay gusto ko rin naman ang nangyari, I want to sleep again feeling ko sobrang pagod ako. Okay, I didn't sleep well last night. I think I fell asleep around 3 AM. 

Habang inaantay ko si Brent sa school parking ay nahagip naman ng mga mata ko ang isang pick-up na sasakyan, and I think that's Kai's. Tinignan ko lamang 'yon hanggang sa mag-park malapit sa'kin. Nang bumukas ang pintuan ay naptitig ako sa kanya habang pagbaba niya. 

Man, he looks so good. 

He fixed his hair and smirked after unbuttoning his polo. I was about to call him when I saw someone getting out of his car. I was shocked, a girl came out in his car.  

Nagulat na lang ako nang makita si Brent sa tabi ko. He was looking at me intently at bigla naman siyang napatingin sa tinitignan ko. 

"Who's that?" bigla kong tanong kay Brent habang nakatingin pa rin kung saan nagtungo si Kai at ‘yong babaeng kasama niyang bumaba sa sasakayan niya. 

Brent just shrugged his shoulders. 

“Hindi ko rin alam eh, maybe a fling, block mate, or friend? I don’t know but the girl’s face looks familiar, though.”
