~BROOKE~ My attempts to break out the cage fail miserably. It would have helped had I not lost my phone. Or did she take it? There's no way I can signal Alistair. I groan and try to turn but my whole body feels numb. I haven't been in one position for hours like this and it doesn't help that I am hungry. It's hard to tell what time it is but based on how long I have been down here, it must be after dark. She has been gone all this long and God only knows what she has been up to. I just hope that the school is safe and she is not on some kind of murder spree. I can't stop thinking about the key. What could it possibly be for? It must be important if my father went to all that trouble to have it spelled in our blood. The thing that angers me of all is the fact that he never mentioned it
