7 years later
Cassandra's POV
"Ash, please stop running, I can't keep up." I cried out to my six years old, son.
"Catch me mum!" he yelled out.
"Ash please!"
"No, mum, we made a deal, if you want me to do my homework then you will have to catch me."
"Ash, I can't catch you."
"Why?"
"Because you are much younger than me, which means you have more energy than me."
My son squeezed his face. "No, I will not listen to anything you have to say mum."
My son is very stubborn, he loves playing, but he hates studying and the funniest part is that he is always the best in his class.
"Ash, if you want to be a successful businessman, you need to study."
My son stopped running. "I want to be a successful businessman, but I don't want to study."
"How will you run your empire if you don't read?" I asked.
Ash bit his lips. "Do all businessmen study.?"
"Yes, my love, do you know that even bankers, doctors and all other professionals study."
"Really!"
I nodded my head before carrying him. "You know what tell me who are your role models?"
He scratched his hair for a sec. "I have two role models."
"Who are they?"
"Well, you are number one because you are my mum and you are also a powerful woman."
I smiled at him. "Who is number two?"
"Number two is my favorite businessman and his name is Mr. Alexander Lambton." he squeaked
My heart ached at the mention of his name. My son's role model is his father, and the funny part is that he has no idea about.
"If you want to be like Mr. Lambton, then you must read your books and also do all your homework."
Ash smiled and rushed to his room, leaving me alone to engulf in my thoughts.
It has been seven years since I have seen him, seven years since I heard his voice. I miss him a lot. It is hard to breathe. I try to imagine how our family will look like if we were still together, but that dream can never come to pass because I destroyed that dream a long time ago. It breaks my heart anytime I remember that night, the night that I let you, the night that I broke your heart and to be honest I really miss you and guess what also your son misses you a lot, you are his role model, he really wants to be just like you, he wants to own a business empire one day and I am hundred percent sure that if you were with us, you would have been so proud of your 6-year-old son. I really hope that Ash Lambton makes the Lambton's family proud.
The sound of my phone distracted me from my thought, I picked the phone and answered the call.
Me: Yes Hello!
Maya: Hello, Cassandra
Me: Maya, how are you?
Maya: I am fine, how about you and my little friend?
Me: I am doing alright and Ash is okay, but what happened to you?
Maya: Nothing happened to me.
Me: You seem thrilled.
Maya: I am happy.
Me: What happened?
Maya: It's Alexander.
Me: What happened to Alexander
Maya: Your handsome and sexy husband has been awarded the business man of year again.
Me: Really!
Maya: Yes, really, this will be...
Me: His eleventh award
Maya: Wow, you still keep track of him.
Me: I still love him
Maya: Then tell him the truth.
Me: No way
Maya: Why?
Me: Maya, if we should start this topic we both know that it will not end well.
Maya: Sure, it is your life at all.
Me: Thanks
Maya: Can I ask you something?
Me: Sure
Maya: Can you come and attend the award ceremony?
Me: Are you mad?
Maya: I know that you say that.
Me: I can't come there because if I do, everyone will recognize.
Maya: Is that the only reason?
Me: Maya, you know that I am scared to face him.
Maya: You won't have to face him.
Me: How?
Maya: You will wear a disguise that way, he will never know it is you.
Me: What if he recognizes me?
Maya: He won't I promise, this way you get to see him and also Ash gets to meet his role model.
Me: If your plans works then I accept.
Maya: Yeah! Okay, I have to go bye
Me: Bye
