Chapter 3

Richard POV

"No, I can't go for the Grammy awards." I muttered.

"Why?" Maya questioned

"I can't face Alexander and also the last thing I want to do is to put his life in danger." I explained.

"I will not accept that reason." Maya groaned. "This has been your reason for the past seven years."

"I want to go but I don't want to endanger him." I cried out.

Maya is my best friend, she and Rosabel have been my besties for a long and only the two of them know the truth. Rosabel is married to Kelvin while Maya is dating Derek.

Maya nodded her head. "Cass I get the fact that it scares you but you know that you can't continue hiding forever because you have a son and he when he becomes a teenager he will definitely ask you about his father and what will you say."

I sighed before looking at Maya, and I know that she would not give up. "You know that I want to go but I can't."

"I assure that he will not know you are in London at all." Maya said.

"How?"

"They will hold the award on the 2nd of September and today's date is the 31st of August, we will leave Scotland tomorrow and get to London when we reach there I will book a room for you and Ash."

I slapped my forehead. "What if?"

"Oh God, why are you always adding the word 'what if' believe me it is annoying." Maya chastised. "That's the reason you make the wrong decision every time."

"You do not understand Maya, I don't want to endanger his life at all."

"I know that you are scared but you have my word neither Mark nor Alexander will know you are back in London." Maya asserted.

I was about to say something but the sound of an engine interrupted, which only meant one thing my son was back from school.

"Mummy" he called out immediately he got into the house.

I hugged him, and after that I carried him. "My baby is back."

"Aunt Maya, hello!" he called out.

Maya carried him and gave him a high five. "How are you?"

"I'm alright." he said in a high-pitched voice

"I have a big surprise for you." Maya announced.

"Surprise?" Ash yelled

"You always wanted to attend The Grammy Awards, right?" She questioned.

"Yes."

"Well, both you and your mother are going to attend this year's awards." She grinned.

My son's eyes opened like a saucer. "Really?"

"Yes, dearest Ash." Maya replied.

"So that means that I finally meet Mr. Alexander Lambton for real?" he asked. His blue eyes were glowing with happiness.

Maya smiled at him before tickling him. "Yes, that means that you can finally be able to meet your role model."

"Yay!" he exclaimed before running start up to his room, leaving me and Maya alone.

"Maya are you sure?" I asked one more time.

Maya sighed. "Nobody will know that you have returned but just tell me if you accept."

I nodded my head which made her jump for joy but immediately she hugged me I noticed something shining on her finger.

"Is that what I think it is?" I asked before pointing to her finger.

"If you are thinking it is an engagement ring, then you are right." Maya declared. "He finally went on his knees."

"When?"

"Yesterday."

"And you did not tell me?"

"I am sorry for forgetting such good news." She pleaded.

I hugged her tightly. "Congratulations love, so tell me when is the wedding?"

"On the 15th of September and yes you must attend."

"I will."

"Okay, I got to go, but I will be here tomorrow by 7:30 am." Maya said before leaving.

I sighed when I remembered what just happened, I will go back to the city, I ran away, I will go back to where my beloved stays but unfortunately I cannot talk to him.

"Mummy!!!" my son called out from his room

"Yes, love."

"I need your help."

"Okay, I will be there soon, love."

I rushed to his room to see what the problem was, but what I saw made me laugh. My son was trying to pack his luggage and in the process he disarranged his entire room.

"Ash!"

"Sorry mummy but please help pack."

"I will help you love."

I assisted him in packing his luggage and arranging his untidy room while my son was busy screaming his father's name.

Alexander, I am sorry for separating you from your son; I hope you will forgive me.
