Chapter 4 You Are Pregnant

707 Words
As Lucas urged me to go into the doctor’s office, a cold voice from the doctor came through the bed curtain. "Please pull down your pants and lie down on the bed."   I glanced at the nurse nervously and she pushed me to sat down on the bed. The fear from that dreadful night came back as the doctor observing my p***y. I clenched my teeth, shutting my eyes, feeling like I was being dragged into an endless abyss, and my body plunging uncontrollably!   Once out of the doctor’s room, Lucas looked at my pale face with concern and went into the office to get the report. “Amy, you're pregnant for almost two months. I suspected it when you mentioned your sickness this morning.”   Lucas was saying something else, but I could no longer hear. The phrase “you are pregnant” echoed repeatedly in my mind. Why? Why am I suddenly pregnant? Holding the inspection report, I sat on the chair in a daze. The world seemed to have gone silent. I couldn't hear anything besides my steady heartbeat. I put my hand tenderly on my still flat belly. Was there really a little life growing inside me? A life created by me and Sebastian. Thinking of the coldness in Sebastian's eyes, I hesitated for a second, but then decided to protect my lower abdomen. I must keep this baby. It's the last reason why I should live in this world!   I thanked Lucas after listening carefully his advice and the doctor’s instructions. I also invited him for dinner at my place. After that, I left the hospital alone.   In the car back home, I called Grace and told her that I was pregnant. I agree to sign the divorce agreement, and she had to help me keep the child. Grace snorted disdainfully. “You’s better remember what you said.” “The doctor said the baby will be safe in three months. I'll leave at that time. I will completely disappear in front of you with all the secrets from five years ago.” My voice trembled a little, and the driver glanced back at me.   Grace remained silent for a while, hummed and hung up the phone. Holding the pregnancy report in my hand, for the first time I felt happy for Sebastian. Now that I was carrying our baby, I was motivated to prepare the dinner early and make a hearty meal. Lucas told me that the baby will be healthy if I eat well. Me and the baby could enjoy the dinner when Lucas came back. It was about the time and when I heard the knock on the door, I smiled as I went to open it. “Lucas, you’re...” Before I could finish, Sebastian clamped my neck. "Grace, I never expected that after five years, the only thing unchanged about you is not just that you’re slutty, but you’re vicious!" Sebastian gritted his teeth, and his voice was sinister. He strangled me, causing my face to turn almost purple, and my weak panting sounded like a dilapidated bellows. “Seb...Sebastian... let go...”   I tried to reach his hands, but my struggles were nothing compared with his strength. I realized the horror of death for the first time. I desperately desired to live. I want to live no matter what else I must suffer from. “Sebastian! Let go of her!” Lucas came out of the elevator, rushed into the room, and punched Sebastian in the face. Sebastian staggered, his back slamming against the door frame, and the corner of his mouth bleeding. “Amy is pregnant. How can you treat her like this? Are you a man?” Lucas grabbed Sebastian by the collar, his face filled with anger. Sebastian turned his head, avoiding eye contact with Lucas. His eyes landed on me with a look of utter disgust. “Pregnant? Oh! I bet you don't even know whose child it is,” Sebastian said, pulling the collar from Lucas's hand, patting on it, and then mocking Lucas. “Doctor, how does the woman I trained taste like?” His words were like knives, scraping every inch of my skin. Tears rolled down my cheeks.
