Terrell
“If you keep baking for them they’ll never leave us alone,” Terrell said after everyone had left.
Terrell could tell that Ava wasn’t feeling up to his attempt at lightheartedness. His face fell and he pulled her into his arms.
“Come on, let’s go to my home; our home.”
Ava walked along beside him in silence. Once he opened the door, he hoped it would be at least halfway clean. Terrell couldn’t remember the last time he had even slept at his place, let alone cleaned it. Flipping the lights on, he was pleased to see it looked pristine. He figured he owed Chelsie or Stephanie a giant thanks for thinking to clean it up.
“Terrell,” Ava began, but Terrell stopped her.
He held a finger in front of her lips to shush her. Terrell could see the worry in her eyes and feel it
