"What?" Kaden asked, and my face flushed. "Are you saying something?”
I swallowed as he reached out and gently tucked a few loose strands of my hair behind my ear.
He didn't hear what I said, and I was too ashamed to repeat it. I was surprised by the sudden bravery that allowed me to express those thoughts.
I shook my head. "No. Nothing...'' I replied instead, moving away from his lap and returning to my seat, which caused him to frown.
