46 I’d lied about being ready. I sensed the shifting of Sean’s eyes as we headed for the danger awaiting us, knew he searched for a sign that I wasn’t happy, an excuse to send me back. I’d no intention of giving him one. With my resolute expression plastered on, I kept pace. Entering the forest to unyielding darkness brought disorientation. “Where’s the damn moon when you need it?” “You’ll be okay in a few minutes,” Sean whispered.
