Elena's Point Of View

*The next morning at Elena and Zoe's shared flat in South Kensington, London*

"I can't believe you're possibly getting engaged to the hottest man in Italy!" my best friend Zoe squealed while holding a magazine with Mateo as the cover model as I was packing a few of my things in our shared flat to take with me while I stay with my father to entertain Mateo and give him a tour of London "He's one of the most eligible bachelors in Italia right now, despite being a widower and a Don of the Sicilian Ma-ia." she giggled

Sophia Elizabeth “Zoe” Castro has been my best friend since primary school. Her father worked for my grandfather and father as head of their security team. She may be bubbly and seems clueless on the ma-ia business works but she knows that it's a dangerous life to be involved with a mobster. So she just looks at them dreamily which made me roll my eyes playfully in multiple occasions.

"Yes but if he accepts my proposal, it will be a loveless marriage, he needs a wife to carry his heirs and a business partner I assume, I need a powerful husband to shut The Council up about questioning my leadership skills and that's it." I huffed, folding the last of the clothes that I will take and placed it in my luggage.

"Not all arranged marriages are loveless Ellie" my cousin, Bernadette says, taking a sip of her pinot noir "My parents didn't have a loveless marriage as did I. And Nana and Grandpa too." she added with a grin.

"That's because Uncle Russell and Aunt Beatrice were already together when grandpa decided to marry off Aunt Beatrice to the greatest mafia family in Ireland, your dad being the heir." I stated "And you've had a crush on Clive for as long as I can remember so you asked my dad and your parents if you can marry him." I teased, closing my luggage "Nana and Grandpa don't count because she told me that they weren't interested in each other-"

"At first they didn't but they fell in love even before their marriage was official." she cuts me off "Clive had a crush on me too! And besides we were already sleeping together even before I told you about my massive crush on Clive." she winked, making me giggle

"You guys are lucky that you have a husband and a possible fiancè, I'm 26 and still single!" Zoe pouts "Where can I get a hot ma-ia boss like Ellie has?" she added with a huff.

"Not all ma-ia bosses are attractive Zo" Bernadette says "Most of them are as ugly as they come, and I'm not just talking about appearance."

I nodded in agreement "And most of them are ruthless k-llers who won't hesitate to k-ll if they have something to gain" I added and placed my luggage upright.

"But what if the ma-ia boss has a soft spot for a certain person?" Zoe asked

"Let me guess, you're reading one of those steamy ma-ia themed novels huh?" I rolled my eyes playfully as she blushed in embarrassment "Guys in those stories give women who aren't in the ma-ia false hope and most bosses don't have enough time to sweep someone off their feet for a romantic getaway and protect you from their own enemies." I sighed and shook my head, ignoring the pang of sadness and guilt in my stomach as I remember how Harry d-ed in my arms.

The bullet was meant for me... I held him in my arms as he d-ed...

“You're okay love, we're going to get you to a hospital yeah?" I sobbed as I caressed his cheek and applied pressure to his wound while Clive and his men hunt down the person who tried to sh-ot me... but Harry pushed me out of the way and took it instead...

"I love you E-Ellie, don't you ever forget that." he smiled weakly but I shook my head

"Don't talk like that Haz, please! You'll live!" I spat "We-We'll be married and have beautiful babies in a cottage by the countryside!" I cried as his body was becoming weaker by the second until his body was now lifeless, he was d-ad...

"Elena" Clive began "Whoever tried to k-ll you already ran off, whoever they are they're a trained assassin hired by someone" he added

I look up at him "I'll get down to the bottom of this, and when I f-cking find them, I'll make sure they d-e slowly by my hand..." I kissed Harry's forehead one last time and stood up and wiped my tears.

I will avenge you my love, I promise...

Zoe sighed and pulled me into a hug "Harry didn't deserve to d-e like that Ellie, Nobody deserves to d-e like that." she sighs as I hugged her back, tearing up a little

"It comes with the business Zo, de-th is inevitable when it comes to the ma-ia." Bernadette says sadly and soothes my back.

I sighed and pulled away "Love and ma-ia dont mix anyway." Bernadette looked at me "with a couple exceptions from my family of course!" I added and winked at her. "Tell Clive to take my stuff home Bee, I just need to work on something at the restaurant." I kissed hers and Zoe's cheeks before leaving the flat and hopped into my white Audi R8, driving to my restaurant.

Third Person's Point Of View

Clive had picked up his wife from Elena and Zoe's flat as they drove to the Kingsley estate to drop Elena's things off first before going home to their shared home in the outskirts of London.

"I'm worried about her, Clive. Uncle Ben shouldn't have arranged a marriage between her and Don Mateo." Bernadette frowns

"He will be good to her love, Don Mateo can be cold and ruthless but he loved his wife more than anything else in the world." Clive assured her, holding her hand with his free one and kisses the top of it.

"She is also the most ruthless ma-ia leader in the United Kingdom ma-ia's history but they might clash! What if this ends up ugly for both of them hm?" she sighed in worry.

"Hey, Elena is a strong woman. She appreciates us looking out for her but I know she can handle it, she's the head of the English Chapter and the undisputed leader of the United Kingdom Ma-ia for a reason." he kissed her cheek lovingly "As for Don Mateo, let's hope he will treat her as his equal and not a typical ma-ia boss' wife." the man chuckled and looks forward to Mateo and Elena's fated meeting.

"I hope so too my love." she smiled sweetly and kisses her husband's cheek
