Jason came with me in the car, and we parked at the front doors of the Mayfair Hotel. Nighttime darkness was displaced by the brightness of the entrance, the light seemed to exude from all directions. At the top of the stairs stood Lincoln in a navy blue suit, his blond hair sleek and pulled back, making it look a little darker than his natural tone. Noticing my arrival, he rushed towards me as the door opened, eager to be the first to reach out his hand. Clicks of cameras and blasts of flashes were in the background, but I could only focus on Lincoln. His body protected me from the intrusive photographers, and for a moment it seemed as if it were just the two of us cocooned in light and happiness.
