The last night has been painfully long as I struggled to sleep because all the incidents ran in my mind making me restless, confuse and somewhat excited. I felt restless as I didn't want that stranger to stop sending me because of the note I had sent. On the other hand, I felt excited and confused regarding the incidents I have had with a strange man who is my so-called boss's boss. So currently I am sleep deprived my way to the office wearing a simple white shirt and black pants.  

Reaching office, I parked my car and rushed through an almost empty office considering I had come quite early then the reporting time. 

Excuse me, miss! You were not early. Your so-called boss called you in the middle of the night and ordered you to come early to rectify a report - My inner goddess said making me chuckle. 

Entering my cabin, I kept my bag in the cabinet of my desk and immediately rushed to Sakshi's cabin. I knocked on the door and went inside only after hearing a"come in" in a loud voice. 

" Yes ma'am," I said softly as soon as I entered her workspace. From the look on her face, It was clear that she was hell irritated with whatever issue had taken place. 

" This man is really a pain in the ass" She muttered angrily as a look of amusement dawned on my face. 

" Sorry about the language but that guy Dev has pointed out a dozen of mistakes in the report we had submitted." She said and a grim expression adorned my face hearing his name. 

" But whatever reports I had made were perfectly okay as you said" I defended myself and she heaved a sigh. 

" No, it's not about your report! This report was made by Priya" She said in a disappointed tone. 

 " But how is that possible? You check the reports thoroughly before passing it to any department" I voiced out my confusions and she smiled sheepishly. 

" Actually on that day, I was in a hurry. That's why I couldn't concentrate on her report but when I checked her report yesterday night. I realized only some silly mistakes were there but that i***t created ruckus out of it." She huffed making me let out a small smile. This is the thing I immensely love about her despite her split personality. When there is a problem, she always acts as an honest pal and tries to solve the problem by giving her subordinates a fair chance to gain experience out of a crisis. 

" Okay! So why did you call me?" I asked confusedly.

" Actually, I want you to solve this issue Meghna." She said calmly and I looked at her; horrified by her statement.

" I know this is not your responsibility but I have to go to London urgently because of which I couldn't be able to discuss this issue with Dev," She said in a sorry tone making me sulk. 

Understanding her predicament and not having a choice, I agreed with her and took the report before heading back to my cabin. 

Coming back to the cabin, I just went and sat on my chair before burying my head in my hands. Working on the report was not a problem for me. The man to whom I have to submit the report is a problem. The last time when I had gone to his cabin and briefed him about the report, I couldn't forget the way he was staring at me so intensely that it made me quite nervous. I had to think twice before answering any of the questions he was asking me. To sum it all I would say, that man makes intimidates the hell out of me with his intriguing aura. 

I removed my hands and looked around my cabin aimlessly when my eyes took the note of the parcel kept on my desk. A feeling of joy and excitement erupted in my body as I opened the box and took out the note. A small smile bloomed on my face as I started reading the letter.

Good Morning,

I had started to wonder whether I was speaking to the right person or not. I am so glad that you replied in spite of being upset with me for not sending you the notes. Now don't deny it, I had seen you sulking and locked up in your cabin for the entire week and regarding my identity, I am now eagerly waiting for you to recognise me seeing your reaction in the past week.

 By the time I finished reading the note, My cheeks had turned scarlet. My cheeks burned with embarrassment as he knew that his absence that affected me. I never knew I would get such a warm response from him considering how cold my note was.

 A shy smile adorned my face as I realized that this person is more close to me than I ever imagined. Not wanting to wait till evening I took out a sheet of paper and started writing a reply to his note.

I come across so many people in a day. How can you expect me to recognise you unless and until you give me hints?

I kept the note in the box ad kept it back in its place. I hummed to myself as I excitedly left my cabin and went to Aakash's cubicle. 

" Did you know what happened?" I asked Aakash with exhilaration. 

" What did your admirer said? " He asked back as he continued typing making me blush.

" Ask that bloody computer only," I said and started to leave. Listening to this,  he immediately said " wait " making me stop in my tracks. I turned around slowly and smirked at him as he continued to look at me with narrowed eyes. 

" Come Let's discuss this over tea " He suggested and I promptly shouted a "yes " with such zeal that it made him chuckle. With that, we headed to the cafeteria as I spoke very gleefully with him making many people stare at me with astonishment. 

" So tell me," Aakash said as we grabbed a table and placed an order for two coffees. 

" When I went into my cabin and I got his note saying ...." I narrated him the whole note with full stop and comma; unable to control my happiness. 

" But how is this possible? Nobody saw you properly in that one week except your boss, Dev and us. " He asked while narrowing his eyes. 

" and that too we came to your cabin to see you " He added making me look at him in wonderment.  

" I don't know how?" I said softly as my cheeks started regaining its colour.

"Oh, the hell Meghna! Have you already started liking him?" Aakash asked or more like shouted making me blush even more.

"I don't kn-" I was cut-off by Priya as she came and excitedly started chanting" thank you" to me. 

" Thank you so much. I can't thank you enough for taking care of that report" She said and I just smiled at her making her smile wider. She was a very sweet and innocent girl in my department. I always treated her like a small sister so correcting her report was not a big deal for me.

" By the way you are looking exceptionally happy. What's the matter?" She asked raising her eyebrows Suggestively making me blush more deeply.

" Nothing much. She has just got engaged" Aakash said and smirked evilly making me look at him with wide eyes.

" No No No. I am not engaged," I said immediately but from the look on her face, I knew the damage has been done.

Oh God! This was so not good. Even though she was sweet and innocent, I couldn't just help the horror that filled my mind as telling her something was like telling the whole office.

" Your mouth is saying something else and your face is something else," She said and smirked making me shyly look down at my feet.

" Did you reveal this to anybody else?" She asked and I glared at Aakash.

" I don't think we have to say this to somebody else as we have already told you," Aakash said in a mocking tone making her smack his arm. He let out a fake wince making both of us laugh. She was going to ask more when she got a class from her friend. Bidding us bye, she left us alone making me shoot glares at Aakash.

" What? Don't look at me like that. You are the one blushing like a bride. " he stated making me turn into a shade of red wine.

" My god! He has an effect on you" He commented making me giggle through my blush.

" So what's the deal with thanks," He asked and I told him how Sakshi had called me in the morning and told me to handle her report. As I finished telling him the whole thing, he looked at me with a proud expression making me give him a small smile.

" You will have to face Dev Meghna," He said slowly and the smile vanished from my face.

" don't remind me about that. I have to meet him after my lunch break as he has gone out for a meeting" I said sighing deeply as I tried to control my restlessness.

" By the way why are people looking at me as if I have grown two horns," I asked Aakash making him laugh.

" Well that is because they have never seen you this happy," He said and I just smiled looking at him.

" Don't get my hopes high Aakash. Destiny has always shattered me" I said in a small tone making Aakash clench his jaws.

" Only if you knew what plans destiny had for you Meghna. Only if you knew." Aakash muttered to himself making me look at him in confusion.

Plans? Knew? Does he know something about that stranger?

" Come let's go and work," Aakash said and I immediately nodded as I had to work on the report before meeting Dev.

The rest of the time passed like the wind as I completed my work on the report before heading for lunch. Lunch was a hurried affair as I had to meet Dev after lunch.

Collecting the necessary files I headed to his cabin and knocked on the door. " Come in " hearing his voice, I entered the cabin to find him massaging his forehead with his eyes closed.

" Do you want me to get crocin or order coffee for you? " I asked even before I could stop myself.

What the hell? Why did I ask him about that?

" No need," He said arrogantly and I think I saw a small smile appearing on his face before he masked it with his arrogance.

" So have you rectified the report?" He asked; maintaining his arrogant stance.

" Yes sir" I chirped and bit my tongue as he looked at me with amusement dancing in his eyes.

" You look quite contented" He commented making me smile at him.

" I don't think that's a bad thing, Sir," I said and he smirked before looking back into the file.

What the hell? Why the hell did he smirk like that? I asked myself.

Can't have a normal life like normal people?
