You know there are times when you put yourself in a problem to save your friend. The same thing was happening to me. In the context of helping Aditi, I didn't realize that I was pushing myself in a problem and that problem was Mr Dev Malhotra.
That man's aura gave off the vibes of anything but trouble. That man is simply intriguing and the worst part is that I can't bring myself to look away from his eyes whenever they meet mine.
Is this normal by any chance?
Because certainly, it doesn't seem normal to me. It feels as if that guy knows me more than a head should know his subordinate and this scares me to death. I have seen him only a couple of times in the past few months even though I have been working here for the past 2 years.
He must have joined a few months back - My inner goddess said in a blank tone which I very gratefully ignored.
Sighing, I looked at my new shinning wristwatch to check the time only to gasp as it was over half an hour since Aditi had briefed me about the report and left my cabin and I had wasted the entire half an hour thinking about that man and knowing nothing about him. Shaking my head at my thoughts, I set an alarm for 1:00 pm as that was the time Aditi had to give the file to Mr Malhotra and now it was only 11:45 am. So I got back to my work and tried not to think about anyone.
Only God can help me!! Urghh
At 1:00 pm, I wrapped up my work and grabbed the file before heading to
Mr Malhotra's cabin. Despite myself, I found myself sweating as I knocked on the door and waited for his permission. An unknown uneasiness surrounded my heart as I heard a " come in " in a deep baritone which was certainly not his voice.
What the hell!
As I entered a man in a dark blue suit was sitting with his back towards me. Though, he had his back towards me but seeing his broad shoulders and the way the suit was hugging his body. It was no doubt that this man could have a good chance of modelling.
" Yes? " Mr Malhotra asked with surprise evident in his eyes which he masked with a blank expression.
Too late I saw that!
" Sir actually I came to brief you this report which had to be submitted by Aditi, " I said in a confident tone and he looked at the man sitting in front him before he looked at me.
" And why are you submitting this report? " A deep baritone voice asked me which I had heard earlier. I looked at that man to answer the question but all my words died in my mouth as the man turned to look at me. My mouth went dry as my eyes met with the perfect pair of brown eyes which were staring back at me in which amusement was dancing clearly. It would be wrong if I say that I had seen much more gorgeous and handsome men than him. This man was the personification of handsomeness. I gulped, as I saw his beautifully shaped lips twitch in a smirk and I quickly looked away from his eyes; mortified by the fact that I was blatantly staring at a man who had, in turn, realized that.
" Uh A-actually woh Aditi is my friend and she had to leave e-early as she was not well " I stammered; my cheeks turning pink as he heard me attentively.
"So? She can submit it tomorrow right ?" He asked as he pressed his lips in a thin line.
" Woh Actually Sir is very particular
About the deadlines so that's why I came " I replied and he smiled pleasantly at me. I couldn't help but notice how his smile warmed my heart from all sides.
God Meghna! Concentrate .....
" I liked yours honestly. Anyways I am Ayaan Agrawal " He said and outstretched his hand for a handshake. I hesitantly moved my hand forward and grabbed his large hand in a firm handshake. Though I had thought that his hands would be rough I was surprised at the warmth and comfort that his hand gave me. Shivers of contentment ran through my spine as his eyes looked back at me as if searching for something. He was perfect was an understatement and I hated the fact that he knew that. He had a dangerously intimidating aura around him which just made him more enigmatic.
I should just stay away from him.
I came out of my thought and immediately looked away when I heard a clearing of the throat in the background. I retracted my hand and looked at Mr Malhotra who was the source of the noise.
Couldn't he wait for a few more seconds? I wanted to gaze at a little more - my inner goddess whined making me chuckle internally.
" I will see you later Dev," Mr Agrawal said and I looked at him to already find him looking at me.
Oh my God! Did he even bother to look away? I questioned myself while my inner goddess looked at him dreamily.
With one last glance, he left the cabin and I turned towards Mr Malhotra to find him looking at me with a blank face.
Now, what happened to him?
A frown appeared on my face as I saw him like that.
" Grab a seat " He ordered with no emotion in his voice.
Jerk! That's why people call him cold and arrogant ..
" Yes sir " I grabbed a seat and with that, I started briefing him about the report.
As I briefed him about the report, I could see his gaze travelling to my left hand again and again which was resting on the table. Feeling confused, I lowered my hand and kept on my lap when he looked at me. I am not sure but I think I saw a flash of emotion in his eyes before we both looked away and again concentrated on the report.
"Okay. I guess this is fine " Mr Malhotra said and I left his cabin after taking the permission of course.
What the hell was that? Wasn't this Malhotra and that stranger enough to capture my mind that one more person came on board. The way that man was oozing out confidence was a perfect definition of sexiness. But everything about him screamed only one thing that I should just stay clear of his way and that would save me from a lot of problems. You can call it intuition or just simple fear but I just don't want to him see him again. I just can't believe that I openly checked out a person and that i***t even came to know about it.
You are the i***t as you didn't take precaution - My inner goddess smirked as she looked at her nails.

" Hey I wanted to ask something " I asked as me , Aakash and Anvi grabbed a table to have our lunch .
" Haan bolo ( Yes tell me )" Aakash said and started munching on his food.
" Uh, Do you know somebody with the name Ayaan Agrawal," I asked making Aakash choke on his food as he started coughing continuously. Anvi immediately passed a glass of water as I rubbed his back till he became okay.
" Why are you suddenly asking about him ?" Aakash asked with a horrified expression and I just avoided looking at him.
" Please don't tell me that you had a fight with him Meghna? That guy is not extremely difficult and not to forget powerful " Aakash asked worriedly and I started shooting glares at him.
" What do you mean? I fight with people? " I asked Aakash with narrowed eyes making him roll his eyes at my question but a small smile tugged at his lips.
" No Meghna! You know what I mean. It's just that I find that man quite unpredictable and intimidating " Aakash said with an expression which clearly said that this really bothered him.
" You mean he is a bad guy ?" Anvi asked him wide-eyed as he simply shrugged his shoulders.
" Nobody knows Anvi but it's just that a known devil is better than an unknown angel. Simple as that " Aakash said I closed my eyes as I recalled how I met him. He indeed had a very intimidating aura. The look in his eyes was intense enough to freeze the water.
NOOOOOOOOOOO - My inner goddess screamed in disapproval while I thought that Aakash was indeed right about him.
" Okay, but he works as what in our company ?" I asked with a blank expression as Aakash stared at me intensely to find out the reason for my sudden interest in this enigmatic man.
" He is the Vice President," Aakash said before sighing loudly as Anvi clapped her mouth with her hand and I just sat dumbfounded at this declaration.
