Chapter Fifteen

1950 Words
Jonathan and Cindy walked for a while before reaching a park nearby. They then sat down in one of the benches. Jonathan then made Cindy put her head on his shoulder as he brushed her her arms gently in a soothing way. It made Cindy feel very hot. Cindy noticed that the park was mostly occupied by couples. Some seemed to be hugging while some were kissing making her face flush crimson red. "Cindy," Jonathan called out. It was not always that he called her by her name. This might be serious. "Hmmm," she hummed in response without raising her head from his embrace. "I don't know how to say this, but will you be my girlfriend?" Cindy was surprised. She didn't think that Jonathan would ask her to be his girlfriend on this date. Although she was still hoping for it to happen, but it still happened so soon which made her heart flatter. She had liked him since she started working at his company but she always kept her feelings unknown to anyone. Although she had talked with Jonathan's mom she was still worried that maybe he won't like her back. "Why? Why me? There are a lot of elegant and beautiful ladies out there. Why not choose one of them?" She couldn't help but ask. She was looking forward to what kind of reply he would give her. "That is because it is you. It will always be you," he replied with a gentle smile as he leaned and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. Cindy felt an electric current course through her body. She was still not used to his gentle actions. "I know we haven't known each other for long but the moment I saw you, I felt lively. I felt like something that had been missing in my life for a long time had been recovered. I've never felt that way before. The feeling of being possessive over something. I just wanted you, to spoil you rotten, care for you, dote on you and make you the happiest woman alive. But I knew I couldn't handle you like I do with business deals, that's why I wanted you get used to me first before I could ask you this. Just don't reject me. If you want I could give you time to think about it, just don't reject me directly," that was the first time Jonathan had said so much. He wanted her, yes, but he couldn't force her. He'd never do anything that will ever make her unhappy. Although he liked her and knew she liked him as well, the thought of her rejecting him didn't sit well with him. She could take all the time she wanted to think about it, but she wasn't to reject him. Cindy was surprised at how Jonathan sounded vulnerable at the moment. He was no longer the cold and ruthless CEO but a man who was in love. A man who was out there to get the woman his heart desired. The woman who made him have cold showers whenever he thought about her and filled his dreams whenever he closed his eyes to sleep. Cindy thought about what Jonathan's mother had told her that day at the office, 'please don't reject my son.' She couldn't bring herself to reject him. This was the man she liked. Although it was just for a short time, she couldn't imagine him with another woman. She couldn't allow it. But then, they worked in the same company and she was his subordinate, what would his employees think if she stated dating her boss. Would they think of her as some gold digger who was out there after him because of his money? She could handle people talking behind her back, but labeling her with different names was something she couldn't accept. Jonathan saw that Cindy didn't respond for such a long time and started to panic. Was she going to reject him? Didn't she say last time that she liked him? "Princess..." He started but was cut off by him. "Jonatha n, it's not that I want to reject you. I like you too and.....," Before she could even finish whatever she wanted to say, her mouth was sealed by a passionate kiss by him. That's the only thing he wanted to hear, that she liked him. Although she had told him this before, hearing it again made him happy. He kissed her for a while until he felt her go out of breath that's when he stopped. He rested his head against hers as he caressed her cheeks gently. Gazing at her swollen pink lips, he was so enticed that he couldn't help but place another peck on them. "Princess, that's the only assurance I need. You don't have to worry about the rest. We'll just let nature take it's course, okay?" He knew what she was worried about but whoever tries to slander her, would face his wrath. He was going to go all out to protect her. Since she didn't reject him, he was so happy. "Okay," Cindy was touched as she felt assured by his words. She knew he was a man who kept his promises and would always fulfill them. They sat on the bench as Cindy snuggled in his embrace. You could tell just from their faces that they were happy. It was almost ten in the night when they were still sitting there just watching the stars as they made casual talk and getting acquainted well with each other. They had never gotten the chance to know things about each other and this was their moment. Cindy came to know that Jonathan's birthday came just two weeks after hers and he had never celebrated his birthday. Although his mother would always give him a gift on his birthday and Martin would always take him out from drinks and his employees dropping their gifts at the office, he had never felt anything about it. That was because his mother taught him that every minute is precious and should never be wasted. He would work like any other day on his birthday and only go out with Martin after he was off work. He couldn't just spend all his day celebrating. Her birthday was just in a week's time that is 14th September meaning that Jonathan's would be on 28th the same month. Now she was his girlfriend and would be the first person to celebrate his birthday with him. On the other hand, Jonathan was also busy making plans for his woman's birthday. Although she didn't tell him, he could see the longing and somehow pain in her eyes whenever she mentioned her birthday. He wanted to make thinks different and celebrate with her so he could make her happy. Maybe he could make things different. Cindy had always celebrated her birthday but after her mother died, everything changed and that's how her birthday was never celebrated. She knew that one day whatever happened in the past would come haunting her and she had to tell Jonathan but it was too early. She just became his girlfriend and didn't want to scare him. But eventually she'll have to tell him. It was getting cold and they decided to leave since Cindy didn't have a coat with her and Jonathan had also left his jacket inside the car. "Let's go before you catch a cold," he said as he stood up with her in his arms. "Jonathan...put me down," she shrieked in surprise when he lifted her off the ground. It was already night time and some people were still walking outside. He refused and continued walking with her back to the restaurant. When she realized that he wasn't going to relent, she buried her face in his chest so no one could see her. She was so embarrassed. She felt his chest vibrate and figured he was laughing at her. They reached the restaurant and the valet brought his car and still he didn't place her down. The valet opened his car door and he gently placed her on the passenger seat before walking over to the drivers side after giving the valet a huge tip. He took his jacket from the back seat and made Cindy wear it before driving away. Since they still had work the following day, they had to turn in early as well. He drove towards Cindy's apartment and followed her upstairs. Cindy thought he was only making sure she reached home safe. She was surprised when she saw him enter her house. "Jonathan, aren't you going back? We still have work tomorrow," she reminded him. 'Such a heartless woman,' he thought inwardly and said something different. Can't she see that he didn't want to go back to his cold bed? "Yes I know, I'm sleeping here with you today. Can I?" He didn't expect his words to be misunderstood by her. He only saw her flush red and that's when he realized. "You...." She couldn't even form a sentence. "Sweetheart don't misunderstand, I just want to hug you to sleep that's all. But if you think that's not enough, we could..." His mouth was covered by her hands. "Alright, you can sleep here tonight," she couldn't let him say those shameless words. They had shared a bed after all. She then walked towards her bedroom with him behind her. When they got inside her room, she realized he didn't have a change of clothes and didn't she leave her room in a mess? It was so clean. She guessed Violet might have cleaned before leaving. "I could just sleep in my boxers, or even naked. I'm sure you wouldn't mind," he couldn't help but tease her. She glared at him and checked her closet for any buggy t-shirts and sweats and was glad to find one. Although they were not his size but he still could make do with them. She wanted him to take a shower first but he declined so she could go first. Since her house had only one bathroom, she went in first. Jonathan who was left behind checked her room. He had been here before but had never checked it. Her room was neat and clean with white and blue walls. Most things in her room were blue. With her blue orbs, colour blue really fit her. After Cindy had come out, he went in to take a shower and realized the sweats were not his size and were uncomfortable to wear. When he walked out Cindy realized how awkward he looked and told him it was fine if he removed them. They then got under the covers to sleep but not before he texted his driver with some instructions. He wasn't planning on doing anything so he just kissed her forehead before hugging her. Cindy snuggled and found a comfortable spot in his embrace before kissing him on the cheeks with a "goodnight" before drifting off to sleep. She didn't even realize how stiff the man was. Her movements made his little brother excited and with the kiss, he could feel his desires build up, he almost lost his self control. When he looked at the little woman, she was already sleeping. She seemed to be tired. She was so brave to sleep with a man with her walls down, wasn't she afraid that he might take advantage of her in the middle of the night? But he was glad she trusted him. That thought alone made him happy. "Goodnight love," he whispered before drifting off to sleep with her in his embrace and a satisfied smile on his face.
