Athena Harris POV
“I am sorry” My check burned with what just happened. There was pin drop silence in the breakfast nook. I felt embarrassed as I felt several pair of eyes on me. This was not how I expected the first day to go.
“Don’t you know how to properly work?” snaps the lady at me.
“I am asking you something” she growls at me.
“Look up at me when I am talking to you” she added further.
Startled, I moved back when she was trying to slap me once again. Her eyes narrowed in my direction.
“Who has hired you to work here?” she inquires further.
Within those minutes, everyone was just watching the entire scene but no one came forward for any kind of help.
“I did not know I had to take your permission before hiring someone, Marlene?” says the Alpha in his sarcastic tone.
