Xerxes POV
“First, I want to confess something” she says.
I take my time in giving her a response. I am scared to even ask what it is about, because things seem to be not going my way and I fear that I am already on the brink of losing her.
“Go ahead” I nod at her.
She was silent for few minutes. Every second that she was taking was increasing my worry. My heart beat was thumping rapidly. I was not sure what it would be, but one look at her face, I know that I won’t like it.
“You are making me worry, Eva” I murmur quietly.
A tear slips by her eyes as she avoids looking my way.
“What is it?” I encourage her.
As if that is what she was needed, she nods at me and says “I am your mate” without even blinking as she gives me a pleading look.
