"Sorry, sir. If we have to kick someone out of this place, we'll drag you out first!" said the bodyguard standing next to Barnett.
"Watch your language, errand boy! You're so loud as to say that to my future husband! Don't you know he will get five per cent of the Cullen family's company? He could have gotten your name out of here!" said Alice arrogantly.
"You're shameless, Alice. You've already had an affair with a married man. You still want to mess with this place?" snapped Kim, who had just entered the room.
"Did they do anything bad to you, Barnett?" asked Kim, worried about her stepbrother's condition.
Barnett shook his head quickly. "No one can do anything bad to me!"
"Let this loser stay here." Barnett immediately left their presence to make a speech.
Alice and Dauren looked very surprised when the host announced the principal heir of the Cullen family. They would never have thought that the poor man they had been bullying had a fortune of 1 billion and several companies engaged in the export of raw goods in the country. Barnett was also surprised by Ben's decision to make him the principal heir of the Cullen family, considering that he had no good business experience.
"I will help you manage the company. Don't worry." Kim quickly whispered in Barnett's ear.
"Please come on stage, Mr. Barnett. Congratulations on your coronation," said the host.
After Barnett gave his speech, an unknown man came suddenly to the event. Several armed men also arrived and held several foreign investors at gunpoint.
"Protect Grandpa! Quickly protect him!" Barnett ordered with a muddled mind.
"Barnett, grandfather isn't here! I've ordered all the guards to look for her. However, they didn't find her around this place." Kim again contacted the few spies she had paid to maintain security outside the building.
"Barnett, you should also go with me now! This place is in a serious situation! I don't want you to lose your life," Kim said once again.
"I have to find grandfather's whereabouts! I have to find him. Kim, you get out of here. I'll be fine." Barnett immediately left the podium to look for Ben.
Kim rudely grabbed Barnett's hand as he was about to leave. "This is not the right time to look for him. Trust me, they'll find grandfather soon. You don't have a protective weapon."
"You doubt me?" Barnett immediately picked up the hard object Kim always kept in his waistband. "I'll kill whoever ruined this beautiful day!"
The loud bang in the room sent all the guests running to save themselves from the already there mafia. However, all the doors in the building had been blocked. Kim and her bodyguards were trying to protect Barnett, the new supreme shareholder of Crest View Group.
"Hand over that man!" said the masked man standing at the front of the rebels' line.
"Step over my corpse first! Don't expect you to touch Barnett!" said Kim, still pointing his firearm.
The man smiled after removing his face covering. "Hand over that man, or the head of the Cullen family will die by my hand! The choice is all yours. I don't want to waste my time here for too long. You only have ten minutes to save Ben from the bomb that has been installed on his body!" he said as he pressed the digital bomb trigger button.
The man in disguise was about to press the bomb trigger. However, a sniper managed to shoot the mysterious man's body. Until the bomb trigger in his hand was released in random directions. Meanwhile, Barnett tried to get rid of the bomb trigger. Until he got a shot on his left shoulder. Kim, who saw the situation, immediately acted and fired several bullets at several bodyguards who wanted to hurt Barnett.
"Barnett, take my gun!" shouted Kim when he saw Barnett get up from his helplessness.
Barnett didn't have the skills to do that. However, he had to be prepared to take one shot for his protection. "I won't let you out of my grasp!" he shouted as he fought off several guards who were about to kill him.
Some panicked guests also made things even more chaotic inside the building. Barnett and Kim couldn't have fired a few bullets because many people had obscured their vision. They escaped as soon as they got the chance. However, until now, they had not been able to find Ben's whereabouts.
"Sir, the entire media has been broadcasting this afternoon's predicament to the entire country," said the woman who always accompanied Barnett in trouble.
"Can you control this?" Barnett was getting panicky.
"It's too late, sir. It looks like someone is deliberately doing this to bring down Crest View Group's stock price." Benita returned to monitoring the stock index on her laptop screen.
Barnett sniffed as soon as he heard that. "At this rate, what can we do?" he asked Kimberly.
Kimberly also looked troubled by the situation. "As for the stock issue, we can put it aside for now. Right now, the most important thing is to find Grandpa. They're still keeping him in a secret place."
"Are you having fun after getting into this mess?" grumbled Kendrick, who had just walked into Barnett's office.
Everyone who saw him coming looked annoyed. The burly man began to walk closer to Barnett and touched some of the items around him. Things were getting tense and heated.
"No one's happy after finding out Grandpa went missing at the event this afternoon," Barnett snapped with a still, very stern look at Ken.
"Then why are you still here?" Ken refocused his gaze on Barnett and Kim.
"What about you?" Barnett couldn't contain his emotions either.
Ken firmly pulled Barnett's collar. "You're the instigator of this family's problems! You shouldn't have come and introduced yourself as the heir to Crest View Group!"
Barnett also immediately retorted to his uncle's actions. "Your dreams are too high to be the heir!"
"Stop it already!" Kim immediately broke up their argument.
"This is not the right time to discuss personal matters!" Kim fixed her gaze on Ken. "Where have you been? Why weren't you at the event this afternoon?"
"I had a lot of business to attend to outside!" Ken replied, immediately turning his gaze in the other direction.
Barnett suspected his uncle's strange movements. He also accidentally noticed a small cut on the man's arm. He was sure that the wound on Ken's hand was recent.
"Could he have been involved in the m******e this afternoon?" thought Barnett as he approached his uncle.
"I want to know where you went this afternoon!" he told Ken.
"Why are you looking at me like that? Do you think I was involved in that mess this afternoon?" Ken quickly dropped his gaze.
"I've never snubbed you like that!" Barnett immediately pulled on his uncle's injured arm. "How did you get this puncture wound?" He sharpened his gaze even more.
