Barnett smiled wryly when he saw his wife's gaze. “You don't need to know who I am and what my connection to that family.” He grabbed the object in Alice's hand.
“This card was supposed to be handed to you. However, look at you now, Alice. Even, you don't even deserve this card,” Barnett sneered.
“You must be tricking me, Barnett. It's impossible for a poor person like you to have such an unrestricted card. Let alone this kind of money and gifts.” Alice immediately turned her gaze away to hide her regretful face.
“Yes, even if this card is not the real one. I won't give it to you either!” repeated Barnett.
Alice's gaze immediately fell on the man behind her. “You bastard. I want a divorce from you!”
“Alright, I agree to that. However, one thing you should know, Alice. Get your feet out of my house!” Barnett wouldn't let that woman step on his pride, either.
He had been trying to put up with all the insults Alice had given him all this time. He was sure that she would love him over time. However, things were complicated to control. Meanwhile, Alice could still not utter a word after recalling everything she had given her.
“Why, why are you still here? Don't you have anywhere to go?” snapped Barnett once again.
Dauren arrogantly hugged Alice from behind. “Honey, let's go to my house. You don't deserve to be in a shabby place like this. This guy isn't as fancy as me either!”
Alice looked even more agitated. “Don't be like this.” her lips looked very stiff as she said that.
“I'll be waiting for you in court tomorrow!” Barnett immediately forcibly pulled out the woman's hand, which was still wrapped in a bath towel.
He also violently threw all of Alice's belongings inside his house. His breath caught again as his mind recalled the sighs and the situation inside the main bedroom. He threw and smashed everything in there to express his frustration until he forgot that something was ringing on the nightstand.
[I have prepared a gift for your wife, Barnett. Tomorrow I will go there to visit her. Happy birthday. I'm sorry that I can only say it now. You know I had a lot of business to care for, so I forgot many things.]
The text message was sent by Kim, Barnett's older half-sister, who has always supported her from behind without anyone knowing.
[Thank you, but you don't have to do that.]
The text message has now turned into a video call. The face of the woman on the phone also looks shocked by Barnett's situation. This is evident when the woman scrunches her forehead.
“What's wrong with you? Why is there so much blood on your face? Are you being robbed, Barnett?” Kim asked once again.
“I'm fine. Come with me to court tomorrow!” said Barnett, tired of everything.
“Is there a serious problem?”
“I'm getting a divorce from Alice tomorrow,” replied Barnett briefly.
“Divorce?” The woman looked even more confused.
“Yes, she cheated on me behind my back and thinks I'm poor. I'm becoming more and more convinced that all women are the same,” Barnett said, quickly cleaning his face with a gauze pad.
“Insolent woman! In fact, you risked everything for her. Yet, she's so ignorant. I've told you to leave her. However, you always defend her. You'll see, I'll slap her face with money!” said Kim with the same reaction.
The following day, at around ten, Barnett came with his assistant to the courtroom. Meanwhile, Alice came with Dauren, showing their intimacy to everyone without shame. Their journey stopped right in front of the courtroom door. Barnett could see the woman who had not yet been legally divorced from him grasping the arm of the fat man before him.
“I thought you would change your appearance after having 20 million and unlimited cards. However, you still look the same. Still poor, and who is that woman behind you? Is she the woman who will fall victim to your foolishness again?” sneered Alice, laughing sarcastically.
“I don't have much time to quarrel with a disgusting woman like you here.” Barnett immediately entered the room with a cold stare.
After agreeing to everything in the proceedings, an agreement was placed in front of them. Alice fearlessly signed the papers before her and was confident that the man beside her would refuse the divorce. However, her hopes were wrong. Barnett also immediately signed the divorce papers without begging again. After the trial, Alice again matched her ex-husband's trip to show her affection with Dauren.
“Take this money for your transportation costs,” Alice said after successfully stopping Barnett's journey.
“You still have my business card, right? Use it if you need work and money. I'll gladly give you that for free,” Dauren continued.
Barnett could not contain his anger. He punched the fat man mercilessly in the face. “You're the one who baited me. So, feel these punches!”
“Barnett, stop! You're hurting him,” said Alice, who was getting panicky when there was no pause for her lover to deliver a counter punch.
“Mr. Barnett, stop it! You're going to ruin your own reputation in this place,” whispered the female assistant, who was already holding back a punch that her employer was about to deliver again.
Suddenly, some thugs approached them. The man who was already helpless on the ground smiled wryly as if he had won the fight. He got up with a swagger and spat right in Barnett's face.
“You're dead today,” he thought.
“Is this the man who has upset you, sir?” asked the well-built thug beside Dauren.
“Yes, finish this man. I want to see how tough he can be against you. I'll triple the fee if you can crush all his bones before my eyes,” Dauren snapped.
The tied-up man with long blonde hair was even more excited after listening to his master's words. “I won't let you live in peace after today. Today is your nightmare!”
Barnett wasn't afraid of that threat. “Watch your step! If you make a mistake in your steps. I can make sure all your people will die in this place.”
“Haha, you trying to threaten me? You think I'm scared of you?” the thug teased.
All the criminals laughed simultaneously after hearing Barnett's words. Suddenly, they listened to a large car run over Dauren's old model car parked in front of the court.
The entire body of the car was shattered into pieces of junk. Then, a luxury car sped up and stopped right before them.
“No! Why did you destroy my car?” shouted Dauren as he ran up to the luxury car owner beside his car. “You have to take responsibility for this. Hey, get out of there! What are you doing?”
