My eyes narrowed as I read her text. The fact that she thought I was lying to her kid bugged me, but given her history with her ex, I tried hard not to take it personally.
Absolutely. Come over tonight for dinner.
Waiting for those damn bubbles to disappear and her new message to show up on my screen was t*****e. I could feel her hesitation with every passing second.
