Chapter 5 I made my way to Laughlin’s Friday morning for my shift. The bar was never busy on a weekday, but it was open. Full truth, I liked working weekdays because it was quiet. I didn’t get slammed and could test out new drink ideas. The downside was the tips sucked because there weren’t many of them. Russell, the owner, was in the back going through inventory when I walked in. I said hi then settled in behind the bar, going over what was there and what was running low. I moved a few bottles around, bringing the most popular liquors toward the front and pushing ones we only used for specialty drinks to the back.
