Briella
I tapped my foot anxiously as we waited for the judge to call my case. Mallory sat next to me reviewing the files I’d given her, a satisfied grin on her face. She was thrilled. I was just plain terrified.
I hated going to court. The first time we went, I felt like I was going to throw up. There was no reason to think Vince would argue or try for full custody of Kyle, but I knew things could always change. If Vince wanted to hurt me, Kyle was the number one way to do it, and he knew that.
The clerk finally called our case, and I followed Mallory into the courtroom. We took our seat to the right as Vince and his lawyer moved to the left.
The judge called the court to order and set about determining what she was going to do.
