Journey to marriage
Early in the morning, before the first c**k craw, Jane was already awake. She could not wait untill the sun rises, this is because she could be late for the long awaited journey. With her well packed bags, one on her back and another one in her hands. She was dressed on a well green designed dress which matched with her handbag. By the looks from her younger brother who was standing at the door, Jane was ready for the journey away, untill it was no more to be seen. Inside the bus, there is a teacher, actually a dancing teacher, Jane's fellow dances. They are all happy about the occasion that is awaiting for them in the United States of America. In Jane's right hand is a visa card which allows him to stay in USA in three months only. The visa card is even written the returning date. In her mind, she recalls how life has not been fare to her. She also recalls her poor background, the work that her dad does everyday so that they can get a bread to share. She doesn't want her brother to go through the challenges she went through. In her mind, she knows that she has to do something so that she can give her brother a good life and also help her dad with some duties. On the left hand, Jane has a photo of a lady. Behind the photo, there is a telephone number. She observe it for some minutes and then smiles at it. She has hope about what she is about to do. Inside the the bus, there are girls alone, twenty two of them. Each one is busy discussing about the beauty of the place they are going and what they will do after the dancing competition will be over. She also entered into the conversations as they continue traveling. After two hours of travel, they arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. They all carried there laggers and directly walked to the airplane. After some minutes of up and down inside the plane, the flight stated the journey. At this moment, each one was quite, some were shocked while others were shaking due to the fact that it was there first time travelling by a plane. In Jane's mind, she knew that her dream was about to come true. She had hope that by the end of the three months, she will be having a green card which will allow her to stay in abroad. Most importantly, she wanted to get a job for herself and get money to help her brother. Also she wanted to raise enough money to get more medicine for her dad who was suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure. She actually knew that things were not going to be easy. "Seat upright, we are about to land In United Emirates Airport, feel welcomed." Jane's mind was returned from the flashbacks and the thoughts by the waitress's voice. After some minutes later, they landed in Emirates Airport. Immediately, they were welcomed and taken to there rooms were they were to freshen up and get ready for the competition. Two months were know over, by a bad lack, Jane's dancing team did not qualify for the finals. They started packing there own things so that they could go back. Each one were very sad and patient. That night, Jane took the number she was holding the traveling day and called it. At this time, she was all all alone outside the building. By luck, the phone was answered this time, she enjoyed so much. On the other side of the call, it sounded like it was a woman's voce. "Auntie Stacy?" she called. Stacy was one of the oldest friend of her mother, and Jane knew that Stacy stayed in one of the states in the USA but she did not know which one exactly. Jane was overwhelmed by hearing the voice. After a very brief introduction, Jane went direct to the point. She explained on how she managed to travel and reach to USA, and that they were to move back home the following morning. Jane's main point is that she did not want to travel back to Kenya and continue hustling and doing low payment jobs. She wanted her aunt to help her get a green card in order to be given permission to stay in abroad. Aunty Stacy made an appointment that she was going to help her in doing it. They agreed to meet the following morning. Early that morning, while others were busy packing and ready to move. Jane was still sleeping, she had not packed anything at all. Jane's dancing teacher approached her, she asked Jane what was the problem. Jane opened up and told her what she was planning and promised to go back to Kenya if the plans were to fail. The teacher had no choice but to accept Jane's desires. They all wished her a good time. All of them including Jane, were know out of the training building. But, while others were heading to the airport, Jane were heading to the states were they agreed to meet with her aunty. After traveling for two hours twenty minutes, the taxi stoped and Jane arrived at the required destination. She paid the taxi driver and started to walk along the city garden as she waits for Aunty Stacy to make a call. Jane was feeling somehow uncomfortable because she had no idea what was going to happen. Jane's auntie had arrived some minutes ago before Jane could arrive. Stacy was sitting in one of the garden chairs. She was steadily looking at Jane but could not recognize her. This was because she saw Jane late while Jane was only nine years old. And know Jane is a fully grown up woman(Jane is twenty two years old). Stacy could not recognize her at all. Jane was the one who instead called her name first. After a few questions and answers, Stacy and Jane walked together to Stacy's place. on the way, they discussed a lot which involved Jane's parents, brother and neighbors. Stacy also had to introduce herself to Jane, she talked about the job she does and that she was willing to help her all the way so that Jane could become a better person. Jane was to rest that day so that the following day, Stacy could so her some ares were she could find help. By this time, Jane's mind was at ease. She had hope know that all will be well. For the first time since she traveled to abroad, she slept well without any bad night mares. Stacy was not rich, but she had a nice house which was fully funitured. Jane was just hoping that one day she could find enough money to make such kind of a house. In her mind, she always draw a very beautiful house which is well furnitures, well designed, well painted, well decorated and even has its own compound. "All will be well," that is what she frequently tells herself. To her, she uses it as a motivation quotes that tells her she has to keep moving for tomorrow is still awaiting for her to show up. The following morning when she waked up, she did not saw Stacy around, she was very confused. But the house looked more presentable. Everything was very tidy and well arranged. From the door to the window, through the walls, the carpet on the flow looked more attractive making the house to brighten. The couches were well dressed, and well located. Jane was really surprised since she was wandering when did Stacy do all the chores and yet she had an idea of helping her with those house duties. After some minutes, Stacy returned with a basket full of vegetables from the farm. Stacy had a tiny farm besides his house although it was located at an urban center. She then prepared a very heavy breakfast. After taking it, Stacy asked Jane, "a you ready for the task?" Looking suspicious, " which one," answered Jane.
