I bet you think you have the perfect boyfriend, but oh well I have a suprise for you.”
My brows squeezed in confusion the moment I read the text. I had no clue about what this unknown person was talking about because I hadn't even had a previous conversation with them. Who were they? And how did they know my fiancée? Was I being stalked?
These were the numerous questions that plagued my mind. I tossed my phone away, deciding to focus on preparing the evening meeting. My eyes quickly darted around the clock, time was far spent. I held my palm to my forehead, my heart leaping.
I just hoped father wasn't at the office premises for the impromptu meeting, he would chide me for coming late. Well, you wouldn't blame me, I had spent the night talking to my boyfriend, I think he's going to propose soon.
The thought alone filled my stomach with butterflies as a smile made its way to my lips.
Just then my phone buzzed with a text. I instinctively checked the phone. My heart beat picked up an irregular pace, my nostrils letting out labored breaths.
“I’m pretty sure Dave will be happy to see you.”
As my heart thumped against my ribcage, multiple thoughts ran through my mind. Was this Dave's special way of proposing to me? I was beginning to think this was all a set up, perfectly crafted by my ever intentional partner to impress me.
Gosh, I couldn't wait to scream and hug him when he finally pops out the question.
Getting to his office, I immediately noticed the door was slightly opened and the sounds emanating were something I never expected.
Moans.
I gasped, my hands flying to my mouth to prevent myself from screaming.
My bands were shaking with the same intensity at which my heart was beating fast. I didn't think, I just pushed the door open and froze at the sight.
This wasn't happening right now.
I was probably dreaming and a pinch which could bring me back to life.
Dave quickly pulled up his trouser with a suprised look on his face on his face while Lisa held her pant scrambling away from the table where her back was arched.
Lisa looked away, hiding from her space while Dave inched closer to me. “I was going to tell you…” he stuttered.
“Tell me exactly what!” I barked, rage exploded within me like a volcano. My entire body was vibrating and I could rip them apart right, but what difference would it make?
I had been cheated on with my bestfriend.
“That I wasn't feeling the relationship anymore. You're just boring, all you care about is work work. I wanted some fun.” He confessed, shrugging. The guilt I had seen a minute ago had disappeared.
I stood there, transfixed and I could swear that my heart shattered into pieces at the sound of that.
“I'm really sorry, Benny.” Lisa whispered as though she was scared of saying the words out loud.
“You owe her nothing.” Dave said coldly and held her closely. “At least we don't have to hide anymore.”
Those words gave me the courage to do what I should have done since. I looked at their faces for one last time and bolted out.

Stepping out, I released all the tears that I had been holding and slid into a taxi. once there, I called the HR manager.
“I fell sick.” I lied, sniffing. “I won't be available for the meeting."
“You should take care of yourself, Benny.” He replied calmly and ended the call after a few words of advice.
Once the call ended, I leaned into the soft leather seat. I should have known that Dave was up to no but I was too delusional, feeding myself with fantasies. Dave already had a way of brushing off marriage whenever I brought it up.
And lisa? I never saw her betrayal coming. She had been the perfect best friend, assisting me with deciding wedding gowns and planning a wedding she knew would never happen.
She must have seen me as a fool, their favourite clown, favourite pawn they moved around in their chess game of betrayal.
My chest ached so bad that I felt like I could have a heart attack If I didn't stop thinking about them.
“Eagles bar.” I told the diver and he immediately made a reverse.
I dabbed my eyes as I glanced at the mirror, my puffy eyes were a testament of my pain.
I couldn't go to the bar looking like my problems.
Soon the driver pulled a stop, music spilling from the building.
I quickly paid him and walked into the building. I took a seat on a stool as I watched the bartender mix different flavours.
“What do you care for?” He asked, smiling.
“Anything that would help me forget about my pain.” I replied.
The bartender snapped his fingers. “I have the perfect mix for you!”
I didn't care much for the alcoholic drinks because I rarely had them. Maybe that was the reason why Dave called me boring. He liked the idea of drunk s*x and I never gave into the idea of having s*x with him just yet, let alone drunk s*x. I should have known he'd go else to look for it.
After a few shots, the world started around me started to appear blurry. The music started to feel too loud. This wasn't my thing at all. I shouldn't be here but well…
As the music boomed, pain shot through my forehead. I had to leave here, but I wasn't ready to go home just yet.
I slid a dollar bill down the table.
“You like it, huh?” The bartender's voice echoed down my ears.
Without a response, I staggered out, and made my way down the road in search of a hotel.
“Can I get a room?” I slurred at the receptionist.
“Luckily for you, we have just one vacant room.” She replied, a small smile playing on her lips as she handed me a keycard and pointed towards the room.
Exhausted, I pointed a thank you while heading towards the room with an uneasy gait. I searched for the numbers on the keycard through my blurry vision before I found it.
Relief washed over me as I opened the door. I got rid of my loafers and collapsed on the bed. The bedsheet held a masculine cologne that would be sweet if it were a food.
“Who are you?” A firm voice broke through my thoughts.
I managed to lift my head up and it was the most beautiful man I had ever seen. He wore just boxers, his muscular arm flexing as his other hand touched his tattoos. His hair was dripping with water like he had just come out from the bathroom. His eyes darkened with frustration, like he had gotten himself in a mess.
In all of this, he looked like a snack. I over over to him and pressed a kiss on his lips. He hesitated and then kissed me back slowly like an afterthought.
“Make love to me.”

The next morning when I woke up, my eyes struggled to adjust to the blazing sunlight. The moment I caught a glimpse of my environment, I saw a man frantically tucking in shirt into his trousers.
The memories from last night started to flood in. Shame paralyzed me as I shook my head in a state of disbelief. What have I done? Had I given my virginity to a mere stranger?
“Oh you're awake.” He firm voice reached my ears as he threw a bundle of dollars my way.
“I am not a prostitute.” I replied, irritated by my own self.
His bright eyes widened as if saying oh really?
“Well, it doesn't seem like that.” He squatted and forced the money into my palm. “Well, take this and never try to reach out to me in your life. Last night never happened.”
What had I put myself into? I wished the ground could swallow me. This was one of the most embarrassing moments in my life. Who did think he was to tag me a prostitute? I had to hurt him back.
“I won't be coming back for more, last night wasn't even great.”
His Cupid bow lips tightened, the words had stung him. “I see.”
With that, he bolted out the door. I didn't even have the chance to cry because my phone buzzed with a message from my dad.
“I need to see you right now.”
