Something More
You know, I never really wanted to be famous. But I guess the universe had a different plan for me. A much, different plan for me. In fact, I gave myself fame. The only thing that I didn't give myself, was my story. Just a bit of a warning, my story does contain death, depression and even more depression. But that's just life, right? I don't even know if I should like my new life, or my old one better. I guess I will figure that one out soon enough. "Please! I just want to be with you! And the only way to do that, is to let me become one of you!" I yelled. "Lyla, you can be with me even if you are not a blood sucking monster!" The other actor screamed in my face. "And scene!" The director yelled. I smiled and looked at Ethan. He was the other actor who played Jackson in the movie that we are both staring in, called Trust Issues. "Hey, can I talk to you for a second, Ethan?" I asked him. "Sure, what do you want?" He asked me. We were really great friends. Although, if you were to look both of our names up on Google, you would find hundreds of videos and articles on the rumors of us dating. It's kind of annoying really. Can't people just take the hint? "Do you ever feel like there is something more to our lives?" I asked him. His face turned red for some reason. "Avery, we have fame and money. What more could you want?" He asked me. I forgot to mention, Ethan can be really stubborn sometimes. "I guess what I am trying to say is, I don't think I want this." I said. No, I didn't lie when I said that. And I really did feel like something was about to happen. Something big. Something bigger than not even I could comprehend. But the thing is, I didn't know if it would be a positive or negative change. Ethan just looked away disappointed. Like he was expecting another answer. "Your mom just texting me. She said you were not answering your phone and that she is here." Ethan looked at his phone and completely changed the subject. I turned around and looked through the large windows to see my mom waiting in her car. "Thanks, Ethan. See you next week." I said waving goodbye. "Bye Avery. Good luck on the test." He said. I walked out the door to the parking lot. Ethan and I shared everything with each other. Including the fact that I had to take the end of year test tomorrow. I opened her car door once I came back to reality. "So, how was it?" She turned around and looked at me. I shrugged my shoulders. She sighed and turned back to the wheel. She backed the car up and drove out of the parking lot. I rolled the windows down to get some air. I saw a few people with cameras and microphones run towards the car shouting. "Ms. Miller! How is the new movie going?! Are you really dating Ethan Mathews?!" One guy yelled looking at me. I rolled my eyes and rolled the windows up. "Gosh, can people just leave you alone?" My mom giggled driving onto the highway. "It's never going to happen." I rolled my eyes once more. I looked out the window and stared at the tall buildings and palm trees. Man, am I glad we moved to Los Angeles. It's so pretty here. My mom made a right turn and we were soon in front of the gates. The security guard looked into the car and saw me. "You may enter, Mrs. Miller." The guy said pressing a button making the gates open. We slowly drove forward and pulled into our driveway. I stepped out of the car and walked to our doors. My mom placed the key into the door and opened it. I then heard a noise that I had wanted to hear all day. My eyes lit up when I saw our Irish Doodle. He jumped up on my chest and licked my face. I laughed and kissed his cute teddy bear face. "Hi Amos!" I smiled. I grabbed his paws and took them off of my chest. "Do you need help studying?" My mom asked me. "No, it's fine." I said grabbing my backpack and running up the huge stairs. I opened my door and hung the backpack on my desk chair. I fell backwards onto my bed and sighed. I grabbed my remote and pointed it to the TV. I pressed the on button and was scared once I saw what was on the news. "The California wildfires are expected to hit the following neighborhoods in just a few days. Burlington, Cobblestone, Naybin and Miningston. These neighborhoods are home to celebrities like Ethan Mathews, Avery Miller, Emma Chamberlain and more." The woman said. I screamed and turned off the TV. I heard footsteps running up the stairs when my door slammed open. "Avery! What is it?!" My mom asked me. I pointed to the TV and cried. "The fires are expected to come to this neighborhood in a few days." I cried. My moms face froze. "Well, what did they say?! Do we need to evacuate?!" She yelled. "They didn't say." I said. "Ok, how about you go to school tomorrow and I will pack." She said. Suddenly, the sadness in my eyes was replaced with anger. "Are you kidding me right now?! I can't go!" I yelled. "Don't argue with me Avery! You need to study!" She yelled slamming my door. Is this woman blind? I closed my eyes and placed the large pillow over my head and cried myself to sleep. I drifted off to the sound of the wind outside of my window. "Avery, you can't just ignore the fact that you are a wolf! Say what you want but this is your life now!" The boy yelled in my face. It was almost like I knew him. "Grayson, I am truly sorry. But I can't do this anymore." I looked into his eyes. How did I know his name? Suddenly, my eyes widened as I looked at the mysterious figure behind him. I gulped. "What is it?" He asked me. He turned around and the figure became visible. "Hello brother." Another boy with blood red eyes said. I stepped back when he looked at me and smirked. "No Ethan!" Grayson punched this dude. Ethan? But this wasn't the same one. Ethan wiped his lip and his teeth grew to a sharp point. But in a blink of an eye, he was grabbing my neck and choking me. "Avery! Let her go!" Grayson yelled. A tear fell down both of our faces when Ethan pulled my long brown hair away from my neck. He looked up at Grayson and smirked. Suddenly, I felt an unbearable sharp pain in the side of my neck. I couldn't breathe. "No!" Grayson fell down on his knees and grabbed the purple necklace he was wearing. Ethan looked into my eyes and smiled. His face was blurry. The world was becoming pitch black. I sighed when he threw me on the ground. "AVERY!" Grayson started to run over to me when Ethan punched him in the face. He tilted his head kicked him in the stomach. I closed my eyes and exhaled. "GRAYSON!" I yelled lifting myself up from my bed. I wiped my head as I listened to my rapid heartbeat. I looked at the back of my hand that was now drenched in sweat. I turned to the side of my bed and let my feet dangle. I looked at my alarm clock and closed my eyes when I saw that it was time for me to wake up anyway. Today was going to be a big day. I got up and walked over to my dresser. I opened one of the drawers. I grabbed a blue and white striped shirt and black ripped jeans. I stopped when I saw a sparkle under all my clothes. I moved all of my clothes over and looked at the piece of jewelry. Then it all became clear. This was the same necklace this Grayson in my dream was wearing. It was a purple crystal with a gold chain. It was too beautiful to not wear today. I don't know what it was doing in my dream and in my drawer. I grabbed it and walked into my bathroom. I slipped on my clothes and brushed my hair. I styled it into a long braid. I put on some peach lip gloss and put on some black and white feather earrings. I put a dark blue beanie over my head and looked at the necklace. I put it around my neck and stared at it. It was beautiful. But then I noticed something strange. I tilted my head and stared at my neck. There were faint teeth marks on it. I touched it and jumped when I felt the pain. I shook my head hoping that I was just imagining it. But I wasn't. The marks were still there. I shook my head not worrying about it and slipped on my black and white sneakers. I grabbed my teal bag and threw it over my shoulder. I ran down the stairs quickly and opened the door. "Bye mom!" I yelled. "Don't you want breakfast?" She called out to me. "Nope!" I yelled closing the door. I walked over to the sidewalk and held onto my necklace. Was all of this connected? Or was I just going insane? I looked around to make sure no one with a camera was following me. I smiled when I saw that no one was even near me. I ducked under the gates and ran across the street. I walked forwards and stopped when a little girl ran up to me. "Can I have your autograph?!" She asked me holding a pen and paper. This girl was to cute. But where were her parents? I moved my braid closer to my neck to cover the marks. "Sure!" I smiled and grabbed the pen and paper. I wrote a little note and drew a heart. I gave her the pen and paper. She gasped and started to cry. "Thank you!" She hugged my legs and said. "Now go back to your mommy." I smiled when I saw a woman standing by a tree in front of me. "My mommy is at my house. I will go now." She smiled and looked at the paper. "Wait, but then who is that?" I said looking at the tree. The woman was gone. The little girl skipped off behind me. I facepalmed myself and headed to my high school. Yes, even though I am rich, I go to a public school. It was my choice after all. I only chose it because my best friend, Briana, goes here. I walked into the parking lot and all eyes were on me. I'm used to it by now. A few girls walked up to me. "Hey Avery! Can you tell Ethan that we want to date him?" They laughed. "No thanks." I fake smiled and walked forward. Then a boy came up to me. "Hey Avery! Can I have a shout out?" He asked me. I grunted and walked forward. "What? Was it something I said?" I heard him say behind me. "Hey Avery. Let's get you inside." Briana placed her hand on my back and we walked inside. "Shouldn't you be used to that by now?" She giggled. "I am. I just don't like it." I rolled my eyes. "Hey, Briana?" I asked her. "Yes?" She replied. My thoughts went to my dream and the necklace and bite marks. "Nevermind." I giggled. I don't want to tell her in public. "Don't look now but someone is checking you out." She looked at a guy with his friends and his arm on a few lockers staring at me. "Who, the new kid?" I asked her opening my locker. "What do you think?" She rolled her eyes playfully. I opened my bag and placed some books inside my locker. I grabbed some more books and placed them in my bag. Briana looked behind in front of me and started to grin. "What are you looking at?" I asked her. She tilted her head to my right. I slowly closed my locker and looked to my right and jumped. "Holy crap! Don't do that! You almost gave me a heart attack!" I yelled at the new kid. "Sorry. You just look so familiar." He said. "Yup. Definitely new." Briana crossed her arms. He looked at me like he was trying to solve a puzzle. He was kind of cute. "Have you ever seen the first Trust Issues or Mistaken?" As soon as I asked that his eyes lit up. "Yup." I said. "Holy crap! You're Lyla from Trust Issues! The main character!" He smiled. "Indeed I am." I looked at Briana confused. She shrugged. "Don't look at me! He is the one that didn't know." She said. I looked back at him. "I always saw people going up to you, but I always thought that was because you are so pretty." He looked into my eyes. Is that the best he has got? "I have to get to class. Come on Briana. I need to talk to you. Alone." I said looking at the new kid. "See you later." He waved. I grabbed Briana's arm and pulled her towards the bathroom. "Ow!" She said. "There is something I need to tell you." I said. "Is it worth hurting my arm?" She looked at her arm and gasped. She had deep claw marks in it. She looked at me and gasped. I looked at my hands and gasped. "WHAT THE HECK?!" She yelled. I covered her mouth. She grabbed my arm and pulled it away. "WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU THIS MORNING?!" She yelled. A few girls gave us a evil glare. I looked at my hands as the long claws started to shrink. "I think there is something wrong with me. Come here." I said walking into a stall. She followed me and I locked the stall. "Look!" I said jerking the braid away from my neck. She gasped. "And what's even more crazy, is that I dreamed of a vampire biting me. And his brother or something said something about me being a wolf and that I had to accept it. He also was wearing this!" I said grabbing my necklace. "What the?" She said. "Ya, I know. It was in my drawer this morning." I said. "Avery, this can't be a coincidence." She said. "Lock down! Lock down! Lock down!" The principal yelled over the intercom. I looked at Briana who had fear in her eyes. "This is not a drill! I repeat, this is not a drill!" She said again. Suddenly, we heard a faint howl come from one of the classrooms. Briana looked into my eyes and screamed while trying to unlock the door. I growled and smiled while looking into her brown eyes. All I could think about was meat. And I didn't care how I got it, but I needed it.
