Fully dressed in heels and bowties, the grooms meet Willa and Soozie in the kitchen, which has become the headquarters for the snowmobile transit. Upon seeing her brother and her almost-brother-in-law, tears spring to the corners of Willa’s eyes. “Don’t you two look handsome. My God, I can’t handle today.” She rises from where she sits and hugs Jonah, then Sandy, kissing both on their cheeks. Once she pulls away, she tells them, “Don’t forget today is about the two of you. I know a lot of chaos is going on, but…if you two can try to overlook it, think of what you’ve found together, the happiness you have reached up to this point, the beauty…this is what today is about.”
“Thanks, Willa,” Jonah says, bubbling inside.
