Following dinner, the cake cutting ceremony begins. Pastor Blaine uses the mic, gains the room’s attention, and says the simple prayer, “May God bless this cake, marriage, and both these handsome grooms, Mr. Jonah Icicle and Mr. Sandy Keye.” Following the brief prayer, the Melodramatic Sisters do a jazzy rendition of “Sugar Sugar” by The Archies, and Jonah and Sandy cut a slice out of the middle tier of their cake; Willa has already removed the top tier for safe keeping and stored it away, which the married couple will enjoy in six months, a treat and reminder of today. There is no play with the cake. Jonah doesn’t smash a portion in Sandy’s face, and vice versa. They feed each other small slivers and kiss afterward. The crowd goes crazy with applause and hoots. Pics are snapped. Hereafte
