A counter at the coat check area opens on Jonah’s left-hand side near the front of the establishment. There’s a sign in script that reads: Ring Bell. Have Ticket Ready. Jonah knows that Charlotte, the checker, isn’t on duty, having seen her just two minutes before on the dance floor sucking face with one of his distant cousins, a twenty-year-old someone who looks like Harry Styles’ twin. Hence, the coat check area is unattended and Jonah enters the Personnel Only door, left of the counter area, in search of his coat and other belongings, and Sandy’s items, without assistance.
Five rows of racks hold various coats. To his left are two shelves from floor to ceiling, both of which are lined with guests’ hats, boots, scarves, and an assortment of gloves. Hangers are scattered here and there.
