God what have I done
Big brown eyes widened and gawking through the windshield. Hands nervously shaky as it clutched the steering wheel with face dampened with beads of perspiration. Steve Spencer knew for real that he'd gotten himself into a big mess.
How did that even manage to happen? He never car crash since he got his license. Why now-and why also does it seems like his victim had intentionally ran into his lane, probably when it was obvious that no miracle could have prevented the accident from happening.
Of all things, being a murderer was worst of things to give him in his lifetime *?chills*. A hit and run driver could be a better solution,no one would ever know it ever happened. Not even the two blonde men sitting on the street bench puffing on their cigars. The street was scant of people anyway. They were the only two people so close and could easily spot him out, but they seemed too absolved. The rainy starless night had rather put everyone down and dull enough not to be nosy. Steve knew he could skid quickly to the next lane and let whosever was his victim in the rain to die.
To die? Don't be so cruel steve. He puffed and wondered why not. The world had been cruel to him too. He'd had heart breaks and had no one to ask all those responsible for that not to be cruel.
Now he winced and still more thought it was really better not to be sooo cruel, but a bit.
Placing a call to the 911 and detail the accident scene-then poof! Still make a run for it. If the victim died before the ambulance arrives, goodbye then perhaps in an afterlife he'd strictly abide by the road regulations.
You are wicked Steve.
Oh! He sighed. Yeah, he had to be wicked in this cruel world,he should be. Taking his cellphone from the dashboard, he tried placing a call to 911 but his network signal was bad because of the weather, Gosh! So what now. Run away?...
He knew he couldn't and moreover, he shouldn't. Salving his conscience was the first thing he considered, then taking whoever was the victim to any close hospital before going about his major reason for driving out in the rainy night.
Unfastening his seatbelt, he'd left his navy-blue BMW pronto! Not turning off the ignition. He padded through the puddles to the front of his car. A small lump laid inertly in front of his car, he crouched down to squint at it. It was a girl, a petite girl,he could have left her there as the fury within him had propelled. But he didn't instead he lifted her, she weighed less than 95 pounds. She bled through her forehead and aside that didn't visibly look worst. He didn't forget picking up the mulberry rucksack that looked like one he'd use in his kindergarten days having concluded that it'd belong to her though she looked much older for the bag but maybe she'd kept it for some reasons.
At the hospital, Steve had waited to see she was attended to. He hoped she came to quickly. Before leaving the hospital to the grocery the main reason for being out that night.
Nancy Spencer, his mum, a wispy blonde lady, he'd always remarked her go-getter attitude would insist it was just Amber Barrie that he shopped from. Since forthnight ago, she'd had an encounter with Amber. It was on a balmy Sunday noon. Nancy was at the bus station like every other person waiting for the next bus. She was returning from Daniel Weber's, Steve's uncle and Nancy's only sibling, who had been sick for like half a month and was getting no better. The thought of losing him weighed her down a lot and Steve had warned her to take care of her health first and stayed off her brother's case, while his family handles it. Steve also promised her that he would pay his uncle a visit during the weekend just like Valerie his elder sister.
But on that Sunday, Steve was out on a carouse with his pals, Valerie who was also out to a slumber party of a friend since yester night was neither home. Curiosity got the better part of Nancy as she chose to grab the opportunity and visit her brother, who knows he could be worst than her kids portrayed.
She'd only get herself a better clue if she could see, for herself. And Daniel was worst for real.....
