Dear Ella I know that it’s going to be tough but you are the toughest little girl I know. Please understand that I did it out of love for you and your dad. But sadly there is another lie I have told. Your father isn’t your real father. Your real father was a man I met in college. I never got a real answer out of him as to what pack but I know it wasn’t mine. You have alpha blood in you not just Beta like me and your “dad”. But he careful if you ever search for him. He was ruthless and feared by many. My mom “disappeared “ two months ago and then her body was found at the edge of our territory just the other day. My father mourned her death and had locked himself in his room for days. I finally gathered enough courage to knock on the door. “ Dad everyone will be meeting at the pack house within the hour to bury mom. Are you coming? Alpha stopped by earlier and I told him you hadn’t come out of your room in days. He just sighed and said he would come check on you later” I said fighting back tears. Mom and dad had tough before she left and I was starting to wonder if he blamed himself for her getting killed. “I’ll be there go ahead of me Ella” he said flatly. It wasn’t the same tone my father used. He was normally a bubbly outgoing guy with a million jokes. This man I just hear sounded like he had never laughed a day in his life. “Ok” was all I could muster as I turned and walked to my room. I grabbed my coat and put it over my tea length black dress. My warm auburn hair was in a single braid in the back. I wore the necklace my mom gave me for my last birthday. Touching it I felt tears fall down my cheeks. She was really gone and I couldn’t bring her back. I kept thinking wake up Ella this is a dream wake up, but sadly it wasn’t a dream. Bang bang bang I jumped out of my skin as I heard someone bang on the door. I walked up to the door and saw a man and women standing on the other side. I sniffed the air but couldn’t recognize who they were. I walked back to my dads room and knocked. “ dad there are people at the door who I don’t know” I said actually a little scared. “Tell then to go away Ella” he said as I heard the people at the door rattle the handle. The door creaked open and the two walked into the house. I then heard a deep voice behind me “can I help you two?” As I turned I saw Alpha standing there with his head warrior Mark. The two took a look at them and took off running. “Mark go after them. Make sure more aren’t going to follow” Alpha said before turning to me. “ are you ok Ella” he said with a concerned tone and I just nodded. I could then feel the rage boiling from him as he beat down dads door. “ Andrew you are a f*****g bastard! What were you going to do if those rouges attacked? Let them murder your daughter like they did your wife!?” Alpha bellowed and my dad just sat there. Then came the most hurtful words I had ever heard in my life. “At least then the little b***h wouldn’t be so needy anymore.Maybe I could finally be alone to morn my mate. I don’t care about her anyways. Never really did” he said so flatly and it almost sounded rehearsed. Next thing I saw was Alphas large world next to me. “Ella please leave and I’m sorry if I have to kill him” Alpha mind linked me and all I could do was nod. -a month later- “Ella are you all packed and ready to go?” Izzy said and I just nodded. Alpha hadn’t killed my father but said he was too unstable for me to live within anymore. He let me move into the pack house while I looked for schools. I had finally found one that accepted me but it was across the state, about 4 hours or so away. “Thank you for everything Izzy. I don’t know what I would have done without you” I said as I hugged by best friend. Izzy was Alphas daughter and my best friend for as long as I could remember. Alphas late wife and my mom went to school together and both found their mates within hours of each other. Dad and alpha had been friends for life too. “Thank you” she said smiling “ you got me out of the house. Dads new mate was annoying me with wedding details. I’m sad your going to miss it” she said with a sigh and I chuckled. “ you know you love Lily” I said and Izzy rolled her eyes then started laughing. “ I know I do but still” she said trying to end the conversation. I was going to miss our girl time. I was going to miss it a lot. I grabbed my suitcases and started walking out to the car. Trevor, an omega, was assigned to drive me to school. Alpha told me that if I ever wanted to come back home to just call him and he would come get me himself. I gave my bags to Trevor and then turned to hug Izzy. “Don’t forget me when your find your mate now” I said teasing her. “Ella who? I’m not sure I know who that is?” Izzy teased back as we both chuckled. “Don’t worry Ella, you got this and when you become that doctor you have to come back to deliver my pups. Promise me” Izzy said and I laughed harder. She was always thinking about her future and how many pups she was planning on having. “ we’ll find that mate first then we can talk” I said and Izzy just nodded laughing. “Excuse me Miss Ella but it’s time to go” Trevor said has he touched my shoulder. I nodded and gave Izzy one last hug before climbing into the car. “ thank you for driving me Trevor” I said as I put my head phones in. He just nodded and before I knew it I was dosing off holding my phone. -5 hours later- “Miss Ella” I heard faintly as I opened my eyes. I pulled out a head phone and noticed that the car had stopped moving. “Miss Ella we have arrived at Fallen Oak University. I’ll help you bring your bags in then I have to head back. Alpha Crane needed my help setting up the venue for the wedding next week” Trevor said. I just nodded and climbed out of the car. Being a beta had its perks. Especially when you were practically the alphas second daughter. Trevor walked my stuff into my dorm and then bowed goodbye before leaving. I sat on the bed and looked around. In a weeks time classes would start and I hoped they would drown out everything that had happened over the past few months. As I sat on my bed I got the scent of honey and fresh rain. It was the most intoxicating smell I had ever encountered. MATE. Willow screamed in my head. Willow calm down I ordered but she didn’t want to listen and started babbling about everything. I turned off my link her to and opened the door. I didn’t see anymore and I frowned. Unlike Izzy I was excited to have a mate but didn’t care if I ever found one. I could smell that he was still close but I didn’t want to just chase after an unknown person in an unfamiliar area. I retreated back to my room and figured I would run into him soon. I laid down and fell asleep again. With all this excitement of moving away I was over tired, that and I hadn’t slept the night before. I wake up in the morning to the fire alarm going off in the dorms. I jump up and rush to the door. I didn’t smell smoke but knew I had to follow everyone outside. I started walking down the hall and heard people screaming outside. Oh great this must be a hazing thing! Willow bellyaches and I sigh. She wasn’t wrong because as soon as I stepped outside the doors I was soaked with freezing cold water. “Freshman!” A few guys yelled before I heard a deep growl from behind me. “ leave her alone!” The voice bellowed and the guys tucked tail and ran. Turning slowly I see a very muscular guy with spiked blonde hair and the lightest blue eyes. Everything seemed to stop and all I could see was him. My hear began to race as his smell filled my nose and Willow howled in my head. My body was drawn to him and all I wanted to do was touch his tight abs that were outlining his shirt perfectly. Then my head started to spin and I felt my legs giving out. Andrews POV The fire alarm woke me out of a deep sleep and I was pissed off. Those idiots forgot that this dorm was coed but also housed multiple years. I storm out of my room wearing my white wife beater tee and a pair of jeans. My hair was spiked back from sleeping. As I approached the doors I got the same smell from last night. Lavender and vanilla. My wolf Crimson howled mate mate mate he kept chanting as I touched the door I saw a beautiful women in a white tee shirt and black shorts get drenched. Crimson growled in anger causing me to let out a deep growl. “Leave her alone” I growled as my eyes flashed amber. Those idiots knew not to mess with me. They immediately turned and ran like the scared pups they are. I then turn to see her looking at me. Bring green eyes with the most beautiful auburn hair. She was was down right gorgeous and I couldn’t take my eyes off her. My heart raced as I took a step closer and I was glad I did. She was starting to fall. I reached out and grabbed her, scooping her up into my arms. I could feel the sparks flying as I touched her soft skin. “Stay with me” I said softly as she seemed to pass out. I held her loving the feeling of her body against mine waiting to get the ok to go back into the building. Once we got the ok I walked back to my room still holding this beautiful girl. My mind was racing as I didn’t know how she was going to react if she woke up to me still holding her. I opened my door and walked over to my bed. I gently placed her down and stood over her just watching. How could someone be so beautiful. Mate you i***t Crimson said Yes I know how that works Crimson. I have seen people find their mate Wake her up so we can meet her officially crimson whined as I turned off the link. He was definitely making it hard not reach out and touch her. My body was drawn to her and it was taking everything I could muster not to lean down and kiss her. I must have been staring still because as she opened her eyes she jumped back. “Where am I?” She stutters and her voice is the sound of an angel. “In my room” I say softly as she sits up. I look around and see my clean blue hoodie sitting on the back of the chair. “ here you might want to put this on” I said with a smile. Her white shirt was starting to become see-through and as much as I was enjoying the view I’m sure she didn’t want me to see her breasts. “Thank you” she said has she pulls it on. “ I’m Ella” she says all of a sudden. “ well Ella it’s nice to meet you “ I say reaching my hand out to her. She does the same and sparks fly again. I can see it in her eyes that she felt it too. “I better get back to my room “ Ella started to say before giving me a kiss on the cheek. “I’m Andrew Clark” I say as the door closes. She was fast. Why did you let her leave!? That’s our mate Andrew! Don’t f**k this up Crimson bellowed. I don’t plan to I say back hoping that Ella will come see me again.
