Offer To Accept

Immediately, Jessica mum passed the instruction, One of the guards rushed toward Rowan but was slammed to the ground with just one punch. Seeing this scene happen in front of everyone made them believe that Rowan had truly recovered and was fully active, not some sort of madman who they wanted their daughter to divorce some months ago. “He had really recovered. Wow, but how? Nathan muttered with awe, his eyes widened in doubt. "A madman can't dodge a punch and dare to donate a huge sum of money like that, that's means his recovered” Jasper had been grandfather's handbag. In fact, he owned the highest shares in the family’s wealth. "So, what you are trying to say now is that you are not mad anymore?" Nathan mocked with a sneer after a while of dumbfoundedness. "Even though you have recovered, bragging with such a huge amount of money is daydreaming," Nathan teased with a laugh, which got everybody laughing in the arena, staring at Rowan getting entertained by the drama unfolding. “Even though he has recovered, he will still remain poor. so there's no need to consider him still married to Jessica. She should divorce him right here in our present, now that he's not mad anymore and can write, at least it will be of good because he can sign the divorce papers,” Zoey suggested with a cut in of her voice added with mocking words. "If she divorce him, then there's a chance grandfather might accept her filthy ass back into the family. Zoey added with a scoff. After chuckling and narrowed eyes she continued “Rowan you are just a wretched bastard, nothing else. Get your sticky poverty out of this mansion. This place is not for people like you." Zoey's words were like a dagger on Rowan's heart but he didn't give a damn. Grandfather sat quietly, his fingers intertwined as if he was calculating, looking pensive. He was also surprised by Rowan’s recovery and also thought of the money he bragged about giving. "How could a wretched man like Rowan brag like that? Giving 10 billion—Is he insane? Where will he even see the money? He can't afford a quarter of that even in his next life," grandfather said inside his mind. "Attention, everybody!" Grandfather's husky voice sounded with a sudden aura that caught everybody's attention. "It's a good thing we have Rowan in our midst, and I'm happy that he has recovered. This is my birthday, and I don't want it ruined. Anyway, I have an offer to the family. I had come to a decision since before this day to announce it on the day of my birthday as a birthday offer for anybody who could earn it, so you all listen attentively. Anybody who can secure an investment with the Crestview Group will have ten percent of the family shares and the position of CEO," grandfather broke the news. "That's impossible, grandfather. The Crestview Group is a very wealthy company. They won't even give us the listening ears. This is an impossible offer," Nathan broke in with a doubtful voice. "Shut up, Nathan. If you can't do it, just keep it to yourself. Well, as for me, I will talk to my boyfriend, who is well prominent, to help me talk to the Crestview Company so I can have the chance to secure the investment with them," Zoey responded to Nathan with a sudden cutting in of her voice similar to a geometric entrance, while wiggling her hair sarcastically. If truly grandfather was sure of his words, this is the best way for Rowan to defend his wife and make her gain the respect she deserves from the family again. Since she risked everything by staying on his side till he recovered. making her happy will be what he will do till the end of time. And secondly, this is another way to lay his revenge on the relentless attitude the Creek family had done to Jessica. "Zoey, if you successfully secure a contract with the Crestview Group, I promise not only ten percent of the family wealth but also to inherit the entire family wealth," grandfather spoke abruptly with a grin staring at Zoey. Everyone was amazed by his words. The crowd was dumbfounded. "The entire family's wealth?" Mumbling words were hard all around. "What if Jessica was to secure the investment with the Crestview Group before Zoey did? Does your promise apply to her as well?" Rowan asked firmly. "What is he saying?" the crowd murmured with laughter. "That's insane,” Zoey cut in, “That's never possible. With the state of poverty she's in now, I doubt she could ever succeed. Even in a thousand years, she can never make that possible," Zoey mocked with a sneer that ended with loud laughter. Grandfather looked at Rowan for a moment and thought about it. He should play along with what Rowan suggested, which he knew was impossible for Jessica to secure an investment. Rowan was just some mad random man who just recovered with the gut of daring him in front of people to make the offer applicable to Jessica. If he eventually refuses, it will be like a slap to his face, so he buy to the idea and decides to catch fun with it. "Okay, Rowan, or whatever you call yourself, if Jessica successfully secures the investment with the Crestview Group, I will return her company to her and every single thing I had seized from her," grandfather spoke out in an assuring way accepting Jessica to participate. "However, before that, you must first collect the debt owed by the casino bullies, if you can't do that, don't even make any effort in meeting the Crestview group," grandfather added. "What... casino bullies? I can't even secure an investment with the Crestview Group, let alone collect a debt owed by some deadly people that could end my life along the line. I disagree," Jessica spoke with fear, her voice crackling with doubt. "I can't do this," she added. "Yes, you can, Jessica. Trust me on this. I will make sure I make this possible and return the respect you once got from this family," Rowan whispered, staring straight into Jessica's eyes. Rowan shifted his gaze to grandfather as he spoke without fear, “she accepts.” Jessica tried to protest but he insisted. "If that is what they want, then I will show them that I am more powerful than they could ever imagine," Rowan said inside his mind. Some hours later, the party was over. Just as Rowan and Jessica were about to leave the villa, Jessica’s mom walked up to them, her heels clicking on the tiles as she hastily approached them. "Jessica, I want to have a word with you privately in my room," she instructed with a glare. "Mother, if you are not saying it here, then I’m not interested," Jessica responded rudely while turning back to walk away. Jessica's mother grabbed her hand and then turned her over. "Are you crazy?" she spat angrily, glaring at jessica. "Yes, mother, I am crazy. I’m hell crazy than you could ever imagine. How can a mother leave her only child for months without calling? Sometimes I doubt if you were the one who gave birth to me." Smack! Smack! Smack! Jessica's mother landed a series of slaps on Jessica's face. "Are you stupid?" she scowl angrily, her fist curled. Rowan tried to react, but was not in time to prevent the slap from attracting to Jessica face. "What the hell, woman?" Rowan spat angrily. Jessica held Rowan hands, looking straight into his eyes as she spoke warmly. "It’s fine, Rowan. Let her hit me as much as she wants, it won't change a damn about my decision." "You know I won't allow you to be with a madman, right?. That man there is pretending to be well, He’s still mentally ill, I can't allow my daughter go for the wrong thing and you of all people should know that. We are your only family, Jessica. Return back to us," Jessica's mother tried to convince her but it wasn't working. "The last time I remember, you said something like I don’t belong to this family, right? Why bothering me now?" Jessica responded, already boiling in anger, getting more disgust by her mother present. "Yes, I did. I did it because I wanted to keep my relationship with grandfather. Or do you want him to kick me out of the villa as well? I can’t take that risk. My life and everything depends on this family. Moreover, your coming here has landed you with an opportunity to regain all you have lost, which was part of my plan. Please return back to your mother. Let go of that madman and divorce him right away." Hering her mother's last words, Jessica hands curls as she got more irritated, her brow furrowed, her teeth gritted together. If it weren’t for the fact that the person spilling those disgusting words was her mother, she would have turned that person face into a punching bag. "I’m done with you here, mum," Jessica groaned. "Let's go, Rowan," Jessica instructed, walking out of the mansion. All Jessica's mother could do was mumble words, burning in annoyance, watching her daughter walking out on her while still talking.
