The Little Brother I Never Met
Part 1
Hi, my name is Aria. I live with my mom and dad. We weren't rich or poor; we were just a normal family, hoping that God would provide. I attended Hamilton High School, and we lived in California. I’m sixteen years old. My mum was eight months pregnant with a boy, and my dad worked as an assistant to the CEO of "Jades Perfume Ltd". He always brought different fragrances of perfume home.
Well, my school life was okay. I was an A+ student and was literally given the title the "hottest girl in class" because of my stunning looks. Today, my mom just completed her ninth month. I always prayed for her and cooked for her. My dad and I spoiled her.
One afternoon, after I came back from school, I went home and saw my dad massaging her feet. I greeted them and went upstairs to my room. Later, I came downstairs and sat beside Mum.
"Mom, how are you feeling?" I asked.
"I’m fine, sweetie, thanks for checking on me," she said.
I hugged her and could feel something move in her stomach. "The baby said hi," she said. I looked at her stomach and said, "Hello little bro".
Then my dad walked in and said, "Aria, let your mother rest". I stood up and left for my room. My dad went to my mom, kissed her forehead, and they went to their room.
Later that evening, around 6:20 PM, I heard a scream from my mother’s room. I was asleep before then but immediately jolted awake and ran to the room. I saw Dad rushing downstairs with his car keys, and he said in a panicked tone, "Aria, get the bag!".
I ran with speed to the room and grabbed the bag we had prepared just in case something like this happened. I grabbed the bag and rushed to the car. I entered, and my dad sped to the hospital. I was in the back seat, soothing Mom while her hands were on her stomach. Blood was already flowing down her legs; I cleaned it for her as Dad got us to the hospital.
He carried her in, and immediately they rushed her to the L&D room. He carried her supplies in, and the doctors waited outside. Two hours later, we hadn't heard anything—only a faint cry and then silence. My heart dropped, and Dad started sweating. A few minutes later, a nurse rushed out and said...
