CHAPTER 1
NORA Moving is one the worst thing ever, like come on leaving all your friends, packing, new neighbourhoods. Aaarrgh I just hate it. Sorry, hi my name is Nora Parker, I'm a typical 17 year old girl but I'm really friendly and don't really give a f**k. My mom and I had to move to California because she needed a new job. Life hasn't been very nice to my mom and I but I guess we are still surviving. Having a useless excuse for a father who ran away ten years ago is not easy to handle trust me. We finally arrived at our new house it was not and not small it was just right. "Nora this place is nice isn't it" mom asked "Yeah I call dibs on the biggest bedroom" I said as I ran into the house checking all the rooms. There were three rooms but only one caught my attention. It had such a nice view to a very beautiful forest,it also has a closet,a bathroom and a nice reading corner. It was everything I wanted in a room. I went back down to help my mom with the boxes and I knew we had a long day ahead of us. After hours and hours of unpacking my room finally looked amazing, I'm amazing. My mom decided to start with the living room today then the rest tomorrow. "Oh yeah honey, you're starting school tomorrow" mom said. " WHAT !!! mom “You’re just telling me now? I didn’t even get myself prepared!” I shouted. “I’m sorry, sweetie, it just slipped my mind. But don’t worry—I talked to the principal yesterday. He’ll get you started tomorrow,” Mom said calmly. I’ve always wondered how my life ended up like this. But hey, at least I’m still breathing. Back in my room, I flopped onto the bed, trying to figure out how I was supposed to handle tomorrow. Normally, I’d pick out my outfit the night before, but right now? I was drained. (╯︵╰,) The night was still young, though. So I fired up the old ding dong—aka my laptop. (•‿•) As the screen lit up my face, I let out a small sigh of relief. I opened my go-to music app and hit play on my chill-out playlist. Soft melodies filled the room, and I could feel the tension in my shoulders start to melt away. I settled deeper into bed, propping my laptop against a pillow, letting the music carry me. My thoughts drifted back to the chaos of the day—the stress, the boxes, everything. (•‿•) Still, in the middle of all that, I realized something: I’m still here. Still standing. And honestly, that’s enough to be thankful for. Tomorrow might be another mess, but it’s also a chance. A fresh start. Just as a tiny spark of hope lit up inside me, my laptop screen flickered. A notification from Blixstar popped up—the platform where I used to write books. Haven’t had much time for that lately… but maybe tonight, I’ll see what I can cook up.
