Coronation Jitters

Jewel's POV

It has been almost a month. Coronation is less than a week away. To say I am terrified is an understatement. I am happy that my family is coming today. Mom, Dad, Uncle Hawk, and Amber. Then there is Athens, Johnny, Mortou, and Linzi as well. I have missed them. They will be arriving, in 30 minutes. I need to finish my makeup and wait for Tau to get here.

"Jewel?" I heard Jakarta's voice.

"In the bathroom" I answer back.

Jakarta's mane of unruly curls bounces into my side vision. I turn to see she has a worried expression. "What's wrong? Did my brother.." I don't get to finish.

"No not your brother. I am worried about your parents." She looks down at the floor. I can see how upset she is about this meeting.

"No need to worry, you will be just fine." I smiled pulling her into a big sister hug. I could feel her worry radiating off her in waves.

"I am just worried they won't like me for their son." Her muffled words are against my shoulder.

"You need not worry. I have it on good authority that you will be just fine." I pulled her back so I could tell her. "Mom never expected his mate to stay. You have stayed, and are building a solid strong bond like our adopted dad with our mom. She will love you no matter what. You didn't break my brother's heart. You both taking it slow means you want it to last." I smiled at her. "I love you for the fact you accept my brother for who he is." I smiled at her pulling her into a massive hug.

"Jakarta?" My brother's voice called from the open door.

"In here bro," I called out. Jakarta seemed worried still. "Jakarta is worried about meeting the family." I threw the tidbit out to make sure he understood what was going on.

"My fluff, you don't have to be worried. Momma will not do anything bad I promise." He pulled both of us into his arms and hugged us.

I squirmed out of his embrace to take one last look at my makeup, with a shrug I turned to see Tau standing in the doorway looking at me like a snack. I saw he was wearing the security black, with his earpiece in. I raised an eyebrow at this.

"Heightened security since your parents are here too." He gestured from the door.

"You know you can't wear that at the wedding right?" I raised a brow. I knew he was nervous. I could feel some of it coming from him.

"I know, I just don't want to end up on the parentals bad sides." He chuckled.

Both of us could see that my brother Hawk and Jakarta were still in a deep moment. She seemed calmer with my brother, which I took as a good thing. "Well, let's head down there. They should be here soon." I spoke, taking steps to Tau. He held out his arm, a wicked side grin appeared as he leaned down, capturing my cheek with his other hand he tipped my face up. His lips found mine with perfect timing. I didn't expect him to kiss me with my brother present.

"I wanted a kiss before we see them. It might be a while before I get to do it again." Tau whined a little. It was the cutest sound I had ever heard.

Everyone one of us, Linzi's group included waited at the steps for the arrival of my parents. We kept it formal as they are the King and Queen of all werewolfdom. The family heads would meet them in the large dining hall.

Gael would be the only one present at this first meeting. He insisted he is here. I was not sure why, but with the amount of power that was about to show up, I wondered what his thoughts were. Tau stayed directly behind me. Hawk and Jakarta are right next to me. Elder Braun and Pinky as the group filtered down.

The SUVs began pulling up. My mom didn't even wait for someone to open the door. She bolted. Gael looked at everyone with surprise as no one stopped the chestnut-haired woman from coming my way. He went to step in front of her as she knocked him with an arm to his chest. He landed with a thump to his backside.

"Woman!" I heard my dad shout from behind her.

"Shut up wolf, these are my babies," she grouched as she pulled me against her chest. You can't beat a momma's hug with so many things in your life that are going crazy. "How's my girl?" She mumbled into my ear.

"Much much better now," I sighed, letting her embrace take all my worries away.

We stayed locked in a hug for a few more moments before she let go and my dad's massive arms snaked around me. "Who's the pup your mom knocked down?" My dad Joe asked.

"Gael," I saw he was still rubbing his backside. "Head of security," I smirked.

"Don't get me wrong if you picked him that must be the best here?" My dad raised a brow at me.

"I didn't pick him. Goes by family." I wrinkled my nose letting him know I agreed.

"I see," My dad nodded.

I glanced over to see my mom hugging Jakarta so tightly that I thought she might break in half. Both had a few tears in their eyes. I wouldn't get in on that one. My brother having a mate was huge. He would be loved. That is what we always wanted for him.

"Sissy!!" I heard Athena Rose before I felt her slam into my legs. Picking her up I twirled her around.

"Athena!" I squealed as I spun her around. I felt Ronan and Kiwani my cousins yanking on my clothes. Though Kiwani seemed to be eyeing Gael closely. I knelt to give them another hug before they went to find Elder Braun and Pinky.

Amber was the next to hug me and smile, as she looked around. "How are things here?" She whispered in my ear.

"Lots of drama." I sighed. I could see Uncle Hawk talking to Kiwani. Uncle Hawk looked between Gael and Tau and back. He raised an eyebrow at me.

"Second Chance." I supplied.

He nodded in understanding and took Kiwani's hand to come up to us. Ronan had taken off after Athena making she sure was protected. "That boy wants you with him." Uncle Hawk mentioned quietly.

"I know, every chance he gets he tries." I rolled my eyes.

"Why is he still head of security?" Uncle Hawk raised his brow at me in question.

"I honestly got sidetracked enough I didn't think about it." I know it was a s**t excuse but it was true.

"We need to fix it." Uncle Hawk glanced back at him. "Or he might be my next kill." The red-ringed beast eyes are what I glanced at next. My stomach dropped. This was not what I needed. I had my coronation and my wedding. Ugh!
