Jewel's POV

To say that Tau would be with me tonight was a huge shock! I have always wanted to dance with him, so having him escort me tonight was a mini dream come true! I am standing near him with my arm wrapped in his as we wait for the main doors to open up and Introduce me to this ball.

"Thank you," I reached up and gently kissed his cheek. I wanted to make sure he knew I was happy he was with me.

The doors opened, we stepped through the entryway. "Introducing Isabella Jewel Munoz, crown Princess of Southern Wolves. Her Beta Hawk Munoz!" The announcer bellowed.

We stepped forward as a uniform group like my momma had told us. We needed to show we were a unit that would not be broken. I let Akasa's eyes flash the crowd as Hawk and I both released some of our Alpha's auras.

The crowd below showed their necks to us. We descended the stairs, to the floor below. The eleven heads met us at the bottom to formally welcome us. We walked down the row, as I said hello Tau along my side saying nothing as was the custom. Everyone was polite until we got to Gael.

"Are you fine with him?" Gael's aggression surprised me.

I felt, Tau tense even Hawk tensed near me. I had no idea where this came from. "He is my personal guard, why wouldn't I be?" I raised a curious brow at Gael.

"I was not aware he was part of your party." He grunted giving so serious angry looks to Tau.

"I would suggest you let it go. I trust Tau with my life. He saved me from the red dragon and even from myself." I let Akasa forward to add. "Worry about how the succubus got past your men." My growl was a warning one.

Gael's eyes widened in surprise, at my response. He only nodded his head solemnly as he looked to my brother in greeting.

The tingles I felt when I have met and touched Gael. I know he felt it too. The question was is he, my mate? It wasn't sparks but tingles. Hawk? I asked my brother.

Yes? He asked back while chatting with the last of the head families in attendance.

Is it tingles you feel with Jakarta? I knew since he had her he would know.

No, it is shock waves. Tingles would be your second chance mate likely. You crave your true mate. You can't help your reactions. I saw his eyes turn to look at me. Very much like your reactions with Tau.

My brain exploded when he said that. My shocked look went from Hawk to Tau to Gael. I had to process it all. My brother smirked at me and winked.

You knew this whole time!? I shouted in his head. I watched him winch because of it.

I did, I was angry at Tau because he has a second task before he claims to you. He could die. Then the shock waves would go to Gael. I do not want your heart broken again. But I am also not a fan of Gael. He shrugged. I watched as he leads Jakarta, onto the dance floor. Where he moved with more grace than I had ever seen as he twirled her around the floor.

Looking back at Tau, I suddenly understood all the emotions and reasons for why I was missing him. His eyes, I noticed watched me intently. "Would you like to dance princess?" He leaned down near my ear to ask.

I tilted my lips up to his ear, as he leaned toward me and replied, "Yes."

Tau placed his hand on the small of my back. The dancers parted as we found the floor in the middle empty. He took my hand turning me while letting his hand slide along my back as I turned. It sent tingles up my back. My eyes dropped a moment before he let go of my back to take his knuckle to lift up my chin so my eyes met his. "My dream right here." He purred, as we began to move in time with the music.

I didn't even have to think, not that I could. How to move my legs with his. They just did. We twirled and swayed as we glided across the floor. I forgot the people were around us. Nobody else was near while I looked at Tau as our legs moved in perfect sync.

A tap on Tau's shoulder stopped our progress, as I knew, I had males wanting to dance. Tau nodded to them, taking a hand he kissed my knuckles lightly and stepped out of the way. As my new dance partner took me around the floor, my eyes stayed on Tau. He stood near the floor with a faint smirk. As each man interrupted the next dance partner, he would lift his eyebrow like always. I would shake my head and dance. I noticed he also kept his earpiece in his ear. I thought it was smart.

Another of my partner's changed. I noticed who it was when the tingles started. My attention snapped to Gael. "Aren't you working?" I asked.

"I am an eligible male, head of the Calvo family." Gael puffed.

"Who should be looking for his mate." I raised a brow at him.

"Then why does it tingle when we touch?" He countered. His eyebrow going up in challenge.

"Because you are not my true mate." I lifted my chin to look for Tau and noticed I was so far in the crowd I could not see him. I panicked a little. Was Gael going to try to do something to me for dismissing him?

"Tingles say you're my second chance mate, I should be able to find my true mate as well." He puffed his chest.

"What does that mean?" I had an idea. As a Southern Wolf, he can have more than one mate.

"I could pick you both. I would have my first and second mates." He grinned. He saw no problem with this.

I used that moment to glance around the room and found Tau coming through the crowd. His eyebrow raised, in question. I nodded my head for the first time. Looking back to Gael, "I am sorry I do not share what is rightfully mine." Tau took that moment to tap Gael's shoulder as Athens and Mortou came to stand near me.

Gael said nothing he looked at all three men and turned on his heel. "You ok Princess?" Tau asked.

"I am now," I looked up and smiled at him. "Thank you."
