Jewel's POV
To say I was nervous was not even close. I was terrified. The girls helped me pick out a cute sundress, Tiffany styled my hair and Lory told me her stories of Mike and their dating. I figured Mile was not a romantic. But, boy would I be wrong. They're a very much a romantic bone in that big bear's body. Hahaha.
Anyway, one of the servants of the castle came by to let me know that Tau would be by around 5:30 PM. It was 5:15 PM and Tiffany has spent most of the day doing all sorts of things to my body and face. Painted my nails (fingers and toes) while having me wear a mud mask and one of those pore cleaning ones that hurt to pull off. Then she made me soak in a bubble bath and used some oils to give off this awesome scent. Then she started curling the brown mass of hair I had. Ok once she got my hair in curlers it was off to find the perfect thing to wear for the date.
Back to the chair, I went after that for her to dry the curlers and style. Then it was off to make up while I listened to them chatter about how they met their mates and how their first encounters went. I laughed at something the guys did because they just didn't know how to deal with women. It took a lot to get Mike and Lory sorted while Logan and Tiffany dropped to the ground running.
I heard a knock on the door that made my heart stop. Holy crap! Was Tau here!? I looked in the mirror. Suddenly my stomach stopped. I could not move my feet. But, then Tiffany used her boldness and flung it open wide.
In the doorway stood a very delectable Tau. He was wearing a black button-down shirt with khaki slacks. The wide grin on his face could stall downtown New York City. It did things to my insides I didn't understand.
"You ready?" His voice did even more to me. My feet followed their path to Tau. It was like I was drawn by a massive magnet. Before I knew it, I was standing in front of him looking up at those beautiful eyes with their mix of greens and blues. I didn't remember the question until Tiffany gave me a good nudge.
"Yes.. yes," I stuttered out. Boy did I sound in control? NOT!! Get it together girl!
"Shall we then?" Tau used a voice that made it sound like he was purring.
"Yes," I smiled as I looped my arm into his. I turned to grin at Tiffany and Lory. Both gave me a wink and shooed me out the door.
I glanced up at Tau, as we walked the halls of the castle. He said not a thing, as we navigated around it. "Where are we going?" I murmured. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to ask.
"It is a surprise, you look beautiful by the way." He kissed my forehead, as we walked to a side door. I had not been to this part of the castle yet. I had no idea what that door lead to but I trusted Tau.
The door opened and it led to a garden, that opened up into a larger garden with trees and a small pond. It was breathtaking, there were lit lanterns along the path, as we stepped towards the water. We followed the lanterns as they brought us Alongside the water. Turning through some trees I saw, more lanterns, lightly strung in the trees, above and around a picnic-style setup. There was a basket of food, chilled wine, and glasses. My ears picked up the soft sounds of music coming from somewhere even my wolf instincts could pick up.
"Wow! This is amazing!" I breathed as I loomed up to see Tau looking at me a little worried.
"You like it?" He asked with a gulp.
"I love it!" I grinned. Getting on my tiptoes, I put a soft sweet kiss on his lips in thank you.
That soft sweet kiss changed. Tau crushed me to his chest his arms caging me in something I never wanted to be free from.
We were panting and giggling together. "Let's get you some dinner." He winked. Taking my hand, leaning me the test of the way. We settled on the blanket, as he built me a plate from the things provided in the basket of goodies.
Handing it over, he poured me a glass of wine. "I know, you are not legal per drink age, but the fact you are about to become a Queen we can make an exception. I took the glass with a smile. Sniffing it as I had seen others do, I wrinkled my nose at it a little.
I took a tentative sip as I let my taste buds decide if I liked it or not. It was fruity, with a hint of tang. Nothing over the top. I kinda liked it. Tau handed me my plate. Then built his own. He was relaxed and not his normal slightly tense self. Our conversation was just so easy. We chatted about growing up, me living with a bunch of ancient powerful beings and him living like a lion under the teachings of his mother who was a priestess.
At one point he stood, asking me to dance. I am not sure if it was the wine or the random awkwardness but, I liked how he caught me from almost falling on my face. He spun me, and brought me close in the coolest dance moves my feet never touched the ground. He held me in his arms as my toes touched the earth once more. There he captured my lips in a kiss that had me seeing stars behind my eyes and fireworks exploding all over my body. I was lost in the kiss, as we danced slowly in the twilight of moonlight and flickering lanterns. The lapping sound of the water against the bank made for quite a symphony of delight. To say that my first date was spectacular and amazing. I don't know how long we stayed there but when we left the moon was high in the sky and my lips were swollen from his hungry kisses. My giggles were free-flowing and there was excitement in my stomach I didn't understand. What this was I didn't want to stop. This felt like the most perfect thing on earth. I am kinda thinking that I have fallen hard for Tau, we will be married, but what if he finds his true mate? I didn't want to think about it. I was going to just live in these memories. I loved him with my heart and soul. I just wasn't sure I should tell him. I was going to hold to these memories always.
